McCain and his Houses

If you're the McCain campaign manager you cannot be happy with his response to the no-win question asked today - "how many houses do you and your wife own?" "I'll have my staff get back to you" was the worst of the possible answers.

Saying "7" would have been MUCH better than " I don't know."

How will this play in Peoria and Youngstown?

Who cares how many houses he has !!!

Who cares how many houses he has !!!

Probably whoever collects property taxes!

Who paid for Obama's first house?

Unless they were bought illegally or something, I don't see what it matters. Heck, I wouldn't care if between McCain and Obama they owned 30 houses(unless they're renting them Section 8), means zero to me. It's not like we don't know both of them have money.

Obama paid for it. The big question is whether he used any of convicted felon Tony Rezko's money for the purchase. The Obama's seem pretty fond of spending other people's money.

This is really a pretty childish and petty "issue" for Obama to raise. It is also a stupid political move, IMO. This stunt makes the Rezko-Obama property deal fair game and Obama will regret giving McCain an opening to shed light on a real scandal.

As fully expected, this was the message that McCain's campaign came back with.

In theory, I agree. However, we only hear soundbites today, correct? Its a lot easier to use the "I'll have my staff get back to you" comment in a soundbite than it is to try to explain the Rezko relationship.

Obama is getting some bad advice and I doubt that Obama gave a second thought to his own house and the shady deal with Rezko when he began taunting McCain. McCain's family owns some rental properties and he does not personally manage them. Big deal.

Obama and his wife wanted a bigger house than he could afford, so he accepted a favor from a shady supporter who is now a convicted felon to enable his family to live beyond its means. Very big deal.

IF I had the money, I would own houses wherever I liked to stay or had to spend any large ammounts of time. How many people own multiple homes right now during the "flip this house" fad is smoking hot?

Obama has opened a can of worms here.

He now subjects himself to the Rezko deal.

This will be short-lived.

The one that will dog Obama is going to be the three votes for infanticide.

Agreed. Has this been put into an ad yet?

I don't think so, but it is certainly an issue that the Dems do not want to debate. Especially, after Obama's woeful handling of it at the Saddleback Forum.
