Do they ALL want help or do some of them just want another hand out?

:confused: RTS is not talking about banning people from areas- he is talking about the government allowing people who often (seemingly) have no interest other than crime live in nice neighborhoods, with their houses paid for my taxpayers who certainly do not want the crime near them.

Yes he is, by preventing people who are not of the same socioeconomic class to live in area. And he is calling them names

You couldn't be further off the mark than you are right now. See, I EARNED my right to live in the neighborhood I live in. I worked very hard to get here and I don't think that anyone should be handed anything. I would be more than willing to bet that if you yourself worked hard to buy a house in a nice neighborhood, you wouldn't want someone moving in next to you and trashing the area and committing crime. Bet your tune would change in a real hurry.

I'm all for helping those in need, I'm totally against giving handouts to those that don't appreciate it or take pride in their home or themselves. If you want those type of people living next to you, take out an ad and by all means invite them.

Yes I would, but those kind of people aren't near as prevalent as those through Section 8. Most people realize they work too hard for what they have and take care of it. When you're handed things, there's a much lesser sense of pride.

Again, you know he is not talking about people who need economic help, he is talking about people who do not want to hear the good news.

 

To suggest that people don't want help is silly. THAT IS WHY THEY COMPLETED TO FORM TO GET SECTION 8 HOUSING. They want help.

 

Did your wife work when you worked the summer jobs?? or did she stay home a raised the kids? who stays home with kids if i am a single mother and I am working 2 jobs.

 

Help implies they want to get out.

There is a good number that just wants their way paid.

 

She worked teaching summer school.

 

Church or family should be providing.

NOT GOVERNMENT.

If you're struggling between being a decent person or a slime ball, I don't have much sympathy for you either.

I'm sorry, RTS, but I stand by my statements. Section 8 is not the problem. The abusers are, and the landlords who don't ensure that their property is taken care of. Landlords have rights and responsibilities, including what happens on their property. If they know of issues, it's their responsibility to deal with it.

 

You are for blackballing all Section 8 housing in certain areas. That's segregation, and it does nothing to solve the problem you speak of, other than make sure it's not next to you, the "keep them out" theory.
