August 21, 200818 yr Is this guy sick or what. WR in the 100 and 200. 19.3 in the 200 and 9.69 in the 100. He was faster in the 200m than he was in the 100m actually averaging 9.65 per hundred over the length of the 200m. Sporstcenter or Mike and Mike said earlier this week that his 100m time translate to something like a 3.4 in a flying 40 yard sprint. To quote the movie "Maverick", "Was that fast? I thought that was fast."
August 21, 200818 yr Very tall and his stride is effortless. I wonder which NFL teams, are trying to contact him.
August 21, 200818 yr Author I would bet Al Davis would be the first to try. Probably wouldn't take the pay cut, no way he can make as much in NFL as he can in track. He is probably going to be in the $5-10 million a year range now.
August 21, 200818 yr He's fun to watch and how many sprinters, can coast and still set records. You know you're fast, when you easily defeat all at the Olympics.
August 21, 200818 yr Sportscenter broke it down and said his top speed was 23 mph. That's faster than my first car.

August 21, 200818 yr These were my 2 primary events in high school and college. I had the privilege of competing in the collegiate national championships against Olympians from different countries during the time when Carl Lewis dominated the track and field world. I never thought I would see the day when a human could run as fast as this. What this guy did is truly remarkable. I am still in awe. He dominated the other fastest men in the world and made it look easy. Simply amazing. Usually men of his size and build (tall and lanky) are not short sprinters due to the difficulty they have with the start and the first parts of the race. We have just seen the most impressive performance in the sprints ever. I never thought anyone would beat Michael Johnson's 19.32 in my lifetime. He shattered the record 12 years ago by over .3 of a second which is was amazing. Bolt is the real deal.
August 21, 200818 yr Anyone offended by Bolt's actions? He is catching some flak from the IOC for being too demonstrative and not as congratulatory to his peers as they feel he should be. I thought his attitude was a breath of fresh air, but I can see where some would think he was hot-dogging and maybe be put off by that.

I think it was a little over the top, but he is an excitable 22 year old kid who just made history. I agree it was kind of refreshing.

August 21, 200818 yr Youthful exuberance and entertaining. Plus he is from a little country (Jamaica), who took on and beat "the big boys". I'm excited for him!
August 21, 200818 yr My husband, who is taller than Bolt, is absolutely dumbfounded by his speed off the blocks. I don't know how he gets those long legs to pump that fast in a sprint. It is not natural!
August 21, 200818 yr IOC blasts Bolt: 'Not the way we perceive being a champion' Methinks Msr. Rogge should worry more about underage children competing in the gymnastics.
