August 20, 200818 yr I know this season is still going on, but it seems like it's time to look forward to next year. How will the Reds do? They will be young, but will have experience under them. I'm hoping for a good season, hopefully a lot better than this one. I know we don't know how the off season will play out, but saying the Reds stay with all their current players how do they do?
August 20, 200818 yr Impossible to say right now to many FA's and a lot of money to be spent this off season. They have a good young core but they have some work to do this off season.

If they stay with their current players they could very well lose 100 games next season.
August 20, 200818 yr They're making strides in the pitching, Harang will be better, Arroyo will give you 10-12 wins, Volquez and Cueto will be very good. Finding a closer and set-up man, will need to be a priority to be a contender. A solid catcher, who can give some offensive production is a key. Several areas to address in the OF and SS. To speak specifically to your thread, "if they make no rosters changes" and use the current roster, it will be the same or worse. With that said, changes will happen this winter and hopefully the right match, will be available.
August 20, 200818 yr Let's please don't start another year of misery and frutration untill time to do so...........next April. Besides, Dusty will more than likely still be here so there is not a lot of promise.
August 21, 200818 yr It all depends on the growth of the kids, Cueto, Volquez, Bruce, Votto. If those players can continue to improve and get better, mix in the vets here and there and whatever they may acquire in the off season. You would hope Harang would bounce back next year, you know what you are going to get from Arroyo. You would hope the bullpen can continue be as strong next year. Reds could be one of those teams that comes out of nowhere next year if the kids really improve, of course they could also be a disappointment if they take a step back. I know if they do make a big improvement, there will be a handful of us here on the board that won't really be surprised as the rest of the country. The Reds have some really good young talent, it just all depends on how they develop. Course it would also help if Patterson wasn't anywhere near the Reds roster. :lol:
