August 20, 200818 yr It's an adaptation from the movie "The Condemend" with Stone Cold as the main character, which is an adaption from the book, "The Most Dangerous Game" (I think that's what it is called. None of Jason Statham's movies have been incredibily fabulous. This movie is a knockoff of Condemend(sp) with Stone Cold. Convics try to win their freedom by killing off other convics. Ridiculous! Isn't it a remake of the movie Death Race 2000 from 1975 that had David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone and the guy that ran the Cobra Kai Dojo in it? There was also a video game that came out back then where you drove a car and tried to hit pedestrians that turned into little tombstones when you were successful. Here's a link to the imdb page for the original: Death Race 2000 I think the major difference is in this version there are no points for pedestrians.
August 20, 200818 yr I didn't know there was a movie that came out in 1975...but the main part of the story comes from the book "The Most Dangerous Game". I thought it looked like Twisted Metal as well, lol. And I thought "Bank Job" with Jason Statham was pretty good...not great.
August 20, 200818 yr Snatch is a great movie that stars Statham. As for this, I haven't seen or heard anything about it- what is so dumb about it?
August 20, 200818 yr Author Snatch is a great movie that stars Statham. Snatch is a great movie. As for this, I haven't seen or heard anything about it- what is so dumb about it? If the title didn't tip you off, the trailer should remove all doubt.
August 20, 200818 yr This movie looks just like the video game "Twisted Metal". That is the first thing I thought of as well. :thumb:
August 20, 200818 yr I was actually under the impression that this was a remake of the Stallone film "Death Race 2000."
August 20, 200818 yr I was actually under the impression that this was a remake of the Stallone film "Death Race 2000." See post #16.
August 21, 200818 yr I'm with PepRock and AverageJoesGym, I've heard a lot of things about this movie, but all of them had to do with it being a remake of "Death Race 2000" (which if you have the chance to see and don't mind gratuitous sex and violence done in a very campy and cheap manner, I highly recommend). I haven't heard anything about this film's relationship to "The Condemned" and Wikipedia's page on "The Most Dangerous Game" has nothing about any new adaptations.
