August 15, 200818 yr Kasey Clark has transfered from Murray State to Morehead State and has joined the Eagles football team. I for one am excited about the move and having him closer to home. Now, instead of driving 6 1/2 hrs to watch him play, I can drive 50 mins to see him practice and play. Morehead isn't quite sure 100% where to use Kasey but they would like him to run the ball. They said they invisioned him as a RB for them. I haven't had time to check out their roster and I'm not sure what they have and what they don't have as far as positions go. I look forward to being an new Eagles fan!!
August 15, 200818 yr Where did he play high school football at? I think this is the young man from Russell High. He was a fine high school player.
August 15, 200818 yr Great news for the ones from the EKY/NEKY areas. Clark was an outstanding RB and DB for Russell, just a super football player. Kasey Clark will imo help Morehead right away, he can flat out play. RB,DB, kick return man.....he could fit in just about anywhere with the Eagles imo.

August 16, 200818 yr Where did he play high school football at? He led Russell to a state championship his junior year and a state runner up his senior year. If I'm not mistaken he had like 225 yards rushing in the championship game the year they won it. He should make an instant impact at MSU.
August 18, 200818 yr Talked to Kasey a little after the team scrimmage Saturday evening. He's seems pretty happy to be closer to home and is hoping to get an opportunity to contribute. He joins former Mercer opponents Chris Lewis and Corey Jackson. He and Lewis seem to have hit it off fairly well.
August 18, 200818 yr I would doubt it, but not for sure. Morehead is not D-1 in football. Didn't they used to be D1AA? If they are DII then no he wouldnt have to sit out
August 18, 200818 yr Morehead is D1-AA. My understanding is he won't have to sit. Don't know any details for sure.
August 18, 200818 yr Morehead is Division I-AA (or FCS, in the current terminology), but doesn't offer scholarships, so it's essentially like Division III football. I'm guessing the transfer rules are relaxed when a player leaves a scholarship program to go to a non-scholarship program.

I'm guessing the transfer rules are relaxed when a player leaves a scholarship program to go to a non-scholarship program. The whole tranfer thing is a bit confusing. I know a kid from Georgetown who transfered to MSU, but he has to sit. I assume it's because he was moving up. I don't know if it is because Kasey was a walk on at Murray that he won't have to sit. Every time I think I have it figured out...somebody moves it.
