Today is Aug 14th and the big producer has yet to hit a HR or drive in 1 run this month.

 

I was at the game in Denver on the 14th. I was amazed that the DBacks put Dunn in rightfield. I was sitting next to DBack fans. We had a conversation about Dunn and I said that he is a major defensive liability. At that time a ground ball was hit to him, he misplayed it and it rolled to the fence. However, he did rope a pitch w/ bases loaded.

Dunn was 0-1 tonight with 1R and 3BB in a D-Back win for a sweep of the Padres.

It's flat sad that the Reds haven't been over 500 in almost 8 years now!

Dunn had seven walks, two home runs and five RBIs in the series for Arizona against the Padres and he has reached safely in 22 of his 41 plate appearances as a Diamondback for an OBP % of .537

Tough night for Dunn as he goes 0-4 with 3 K's and 5 LOB.

Dunn goes 2-5 with an RBI in tonights 7-1 win over the Marlins.

Dunn is 11-40 (.275) with 2 homers, 9 RBI, and 11 K's with Arizona. The D-Backs are 8-3 with Dunn, the Reds are 5-6 without him.

So the Reds have about the same record, maybe a little better and Dickerson has as good or better production. So far, looks like the deal has worked out for both teams.

The Reds are not the type of team that can win by spending huge money on one dimensional free agents. They have to be more like the Rays and build an actual team. It starts with the farm system with which they have been doing an exceptional job.
