This will totally change the subject of this thread. But just because you are a Christian doesn't mean that you need to do and believe everything the bible says. You can be a Christian without following ever word in there.

I agree with Hearsay. However, if you have truly experienced saving grace you will WANT to follow what the Bible says. Your desire will be to honor and glorify the Lord in all that you say and do. You will never be perfect here on this earth but because Christ loved us, and gave His Son for us, you will love Him and desire to please Him by following Him. You find out how in His Word, the Holy Bible. You will not do "works" to earn your salvation but out of love for the one that gave His life for us, Jesus Christ.

I'm not an expert, but I think you should be saved before you're baptised.

Man cannot even keep the 10 Commandments, notice the word man, so we needed a Savior, and the Bible talks about this Savior and develps a pattern to learn about this Savior. We can't "pick and Choose" scripture as a lot of mankind now does, and finally there is gonna be a day of judgement.

No, you repent to God and He saves you with forgiveness and eternal life. Then you are baptised. At least that is my understanding and path I took.

I'm not trying to be thick. So, can you be baptized without being saved or is it one in the same? I ask because I find it hard to believe that the majority of people that are saved as adults do so without having ever been baptized previously.

My grandpa (and I'm not saying he's right or wrong) used to say that baptism without being saved is swimming.
