September 21, 200916 yr Author "The Black Album" by Jay-Z This album came along at a time when I had all but sworn off hip-hop, and I was pretty much unaware of how good it was because I was just at a different place, musically. "99 Problems" was really the only tune I knew off it. I had meant to pick it after the fact, but I never got around to it -- until today. I understand completely where the critical praise comes from.
