Yeah, but Larkey went to two different areas to watch teams play. He ate several more Hotdogs just to increase the money flow for his teams. He arrived before anyone and was the last one to leave. This thread is getting a little childish don't you think? Oh yeah!, Larkey even walked to Cumberland and Evarts both to show his support. UNREAL! LOL :banana:

 

The last post was simply for fun. I really don't want to get into a Larkey vs JB battle. I think we all need a game to get here so we will have something to talk about. lol

I really am having a hard time understanding where these last several post are coming from. I understand and agree with a lot of what is being dealt but it seems to be like Harlan Ind. is the only school around with morals. That JB is the only Coach around that has the leadership skills to head a football team. Finally, that winning is non-important in the big scheme of life. I have heard words of Blood, sweat and tears and even talk of the Good Lord Above!

I think Harlan County has three of the best coaches in the entire state of Kentucky and all of them have Character second to none. Suggesting that Harlan Ind. is the only place around that has coaches with high morals is mind blowing. Important lessons can be learned both on and off the field and w's and l's have little to do with this, I agree! However, winning is very important also as long as it is done in the proper way and I know Harlan County has learders in place to accomplish not only character building but the w's also. After getting pm-ed several times about these last posts I felt I had to address them. This isn't a blast Harlan High post by any means and it is fine to pull positives from any and everywhere one can but remember we are also proud of our school and coaches alike.

 

With all due respect, your post on the surface seems out of place in a predominantly Harlan City thread. After careful investigation of all the posts on this thread, I cannot see a justification for your feelings. However in political correctness, I respect your right to verbalize your feelings on the subject, even though they are without basis. there are plenty of county threads on which to pontificate on the greatness of the bears. whew, this politically correct posting is hard.:creepy:

Overall I was impressed with the team last week. Offensively we should be OK with the short to mid-range passing attack. We have always been able to establish the run and this year should be no exception. Defensively we lost a couple of great seniors from the line to graduation. But, do return a few guys with a lot of experience. Hopefully we will see some "form tackling" out of those DB's. Looking forward to Thursday night to see how we measure up with the jackets. How bout' it Outlaw?

I could type for an hour here. Like you, I was pleasantly surprised with the QB and I agree that, with the size up front, should establish a decent running game. The secondary definitely needs work and I know they will get it. The key, as usual, is staying healthy. They cant afford to lose a human. Im looking forward to it also!:thumb:

Also, from a former DIE HARD Trojan, Good luck Bears. I look for you guys to make a deep run in that 3A class and expect you will be fine in 5A next year. I'll be following as much as I can.

I agree. The line in my opinion looked better than I expected. Staying healthy will be an issue. James Hill is a solid lineman who gained tons of experience last year. He has a nose for the QB, and loves the sack. He does look a little thin, but strength and quickness can make up for some of that.

Any news or updates on how practice has gone this week? The grid v. Middlesboro (at Clay Co.) is Thursday night (8/22). I did see the Dragons' kicker (Wolfe?) make a 44 yard FG in practice this afternoon.

The lineman that suffered a knee injury in the CG scrimmage is back. (E.D.) I understand he is about 90%. He is a very dedicated young man. I understand they have had 2 good weeks of practice and should be healthy for the grid.:thumb: I also seen the kicks at practice today. Good to see extra help.:thumb:
