The dollar is at all time lows and we are currently in the silent recession, we will never go into a depression again, so I dont think that can get worse. Gas, will not go higher than 4.50 as we have shown OPEC that 4.00 is the cut off before the "demand destruction" occurs which has caused oil to drop what 30 dollars in the last 2 weeks and only by attacking Iran will we further the "hate America" trend in the middle east, which the Dems are against in the first place.
I'm doing pretty well, much better than I did under Clinton. Like UKMustangFan, I'm pretty satisfied. Under Obama all that will likely change for the worse.

Any rich person, not saying you are, cause I simply don't know you, will benefit more from McCain and the middle class will benefit from Obama. As I am sure you already know. That is simple politics 095.

The economy as a whole has taken steps back though, especially that last 4 years.

Not true. If the economy is wrecked by Obama's Robin Hood brand of socialism, no class will prosper over the next four years. It is bad policy for the government to decide which profits are good and which profits are "excessive" and thus available for confiscation and redistribution.

If the oil industry's 8 percent profit margin is excessive, which industry will be safe from having their profits seized? Will the pharmaceutical companies be Obama's next target? Most industries can just as easily do business in business friendly countries as here in the US. Will the middle class benefit if Merck moves its operations to Ireland and Poland?

You have never met the man! You have no idea what he is like on a personal level, only what you see on T.V. Do you really think that kind of a finger is warranted?

It's his index finger...you know....for the one. :D

I am VERY middle class, very far from rich, and Obama will most likely hurt all of us in the middle class. His plan, as he's proposed it, will hurt the middle class more than anyone IMO.
That is a little selfish, don't you think?

Not at all. I care about others, but first and foremost I care about my own personal well-being. I can't support a candidate who is going to cater to the poor and hurt the middle and upper class of society, which is exactly what Obama will do.

It is, and when others (including me) have posted how their vote will depend partly on which candidate most benefits them...they have been crucified by the conservatives on this site for doing so. Weird huh?

Show me where I've ever done so....

I never accused you specifically so that would be unnecessary.

Seems to me like it would fit right in with your little "ultimate freedom" motto.

Again I don't have a anything goes ultimate freedom viewpoint...

What UKMustangFan and I are talking about is not punishing people for success and giving the money to those who don't want to work. The Dems are big on that kind of garbage. Guy's like UKMustangFan and I are the ones who take the brunt of these handout programs because we're middle class. I know I'm darn tired of working my tail off to give to these kind of programs, so all we are saying is let us keep what we EARNED. So it that's what you think is weird or selfish, I don't know what to tell you.
Let me jump in for RTS

I plan to give him just as fair a chance as the Dems gave GWB.

If only the rest of the Country wasn't so blind.

Yeah you can say that... but do you like the progress of the last 8 years? In terms of the economy, energy crisis, middle east image... theres really nowhere to go but up.

Let's see in the last 8 years, I got married, had two kids, became a homeowner, put a nice amount in my 401k, doubled my salary, had great vacations, etc.

And your telling me that there is nowhere to go but up. Great I cant' wait. Still won't vote for Obama...
