Let's see in the last 8 years, I got married, had two kids, became a homeowner, put a nice amount in my 401k, doubled my salary, had great vacations, etc.

And your telling me that there is nowhere to go but up. Great I cant' wait. Still won't vote for Obama...

Alot of people in the country didn't do so well these last 4 years....

...should not be looking for the government to take the fruits of somebody else's labor and simply hand it to them.

So punish me for that now?

Give what you can, take only what you need...It is the basis of the Christian Church as set up in Acts.

I am not a Christian, but if more Christians acted like this I could be persuaded that there was something to their hocus pocus.

Not at all. I care about others, but first and foremost I care about my own personal well-being. I can't support a candidate who is going to cater to the poor and hurt the middle and upper class of society, which is exactly what Obama will do.

I can't believe that the Christians on this board have no comment for this.

SHOCKING

What UKMustangFan and I are talking about is not punishing people for success and giving the money to those who don't want to work. The Dems are big on that kind of garbage. Guy's like UKMustangFan and I are the ones who take the brunt of these handout programs because we're middle class. I know I'm darn tired of working my tail off to give to these kind of programs, so all we are saying is let us keep what we EARNED. So it that's what you think is weird or selfish, I don't know what to tell you.

Who doesn't want to work??? What percentage of welfare goes to that, and what percentage of the federal budget is part of the welfare??? Is is not miniscule, and that is some of your alls entire focus.

Give what you can, take what you need...I like that motto
So did Marx. There is no place for it in this country. The government should be striving to provide every American an equal opportunity to succeed but it is not the government's legitimate role to guarantee equal results.

First off, welfare is only the tip of the iceberg. What do you mean who doesn't work? This country has no shortage of them, just open your eyes and look around. I'd be willing to bet most of us on this board can find them easily in our own families, I know we have a relative that's that way.

What's shocking about it? I can't believe someone would actually like to better their own life before they start being concerned with others....I'm such a terrible person.

Be him the Christ or not, I think Jesus fits in there.

Christ teaches his disciples to put the wellbeing of others over themselves, and to think of others before thinking of themselves. It is essentially the basic tenet of Christianity. The Royal Law.

Well it's wrong.

This new Obama salute reminds me of a certain obscure website that I can't even begin to mention here.
