Coffee

Featured Replies

I am sitting here this morning loving that my kids are still sleeping, and I am enjoying my coffee. Who all drinks coffee? Do you prefer caffeinated or decaf? I need my caffeine. What is your favorite? Mine is actually in NY and I haven't had it in over a year, and I forgot the name but when I think of it I will tell you. LOL

I love it, I bought an endless mug at Breugger Bagel downtown for $99 last October and it gets me unlimited coffee for entire year of 2008 starting back in Oct. I have defintiely got my money's worth. In the summer I usally ask for a large cup of ice though and make ICE COFFEE. Add a little skim milk and splenda. Good stuff.

Love my coffee! I drink it black, no sugar. Hot in the morning, iced in the afternoon.

My favorites are single origin, generally in this order:

Sumatra

Ethiopian Sidamo

Ethiopian Harrar

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe

Sulawesi

Kenyan

I generally prefer Asian/Pacific origins for their earthiness, but the African blends do have a great balance. Latin Americans are usually too acidic for my taste, but I have found a Guatamalan offering at a local coffee shop that's less acidic than many others. Good stuff. I hate Kona coffee for some reason. It's the only one I've ever tried that I couldn't seem to develop an affinity for.

I never leave home without my coffee. And I'm certain to never run out of coffee beans.

If I need more coffee throughout a day, there are several coffee shops, including Starbucks nearby, and I'll take my $2 and refill!

I love trying new coffees, and I love trying coffees with foods to find the perfect combinations of the right coffee with the right food.

You mean "Fourbucks," right?

Yea, I have better things to spend my money on.:ylsuper:

I guess it's a taste thing. :p:cool:

Folger's is the best coffee in my book. I love it with creamer. And a slice of apple pie. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I used to be an 8-cup-a-day man. Mostly in the morning. In the morning I drank a cup with one lump. I liked Seattle's Best, but in general just a good Guatemala roast. I have attempted, painfully, to wean myself off of coffee due to hypertension concerns, but I still drink it in the evening with desserts. Then I like a pinch of brown sugar, and I like Kona blends best.

I have never, to my recollection, turned down an Irish Coffee.

I've never had Guatemala roast. I've also never tried brown sugar (which sounds like it would be excellent with coffee) and I've never been sold on the Kona, especially since it is usually way more expensive.

I've never had Sulawesi, but I agree with the rest, especially the Yirgacheffe. For a milder single origin I enjoy those from Peru.

I'm also a bit picky about fair trade and organic coffee.

Now that is a great idea.

Drink it everyday, that's the first think I do when I get to work is make coffee.

I call it the super's special.

Love my java. In the summer time it is usually one cup before work...winter time, typically two.

Typically, I rotate the Folgers and the Maxwell House, depending whatever is on sale.

Wifey wanted one of those Gevalia coffee pots which is not too bad of a deal, get a free coffee maker, travel mug, and caraffe with two bags of coffee for $25...then cancel the subscription for coffee.

Love the frappachinos from Starbucks....bad news when I hit the Kroger on US 42. Not a big fan of iced coffee.

Typically, I take mine with Hazelnut creamer and two sweet n low's.

Peets at the airport is gooood.

Sulawesi is a pretty earthy flavor. But, for some reason, I just am not as partial to it as I am to Sumatra.

To me, Sumatra is the ultimate coffee. I became hooked on Sumatra before Starbucks even came to Louisville. Heine Bros has an excellent offering, which is where I first tried it.

When you say you're picky about the organic and fair trade, do you mean you try to buy fair trade and organic? Or that you have trouble finding offerings you like?

Coffee is a MUST before I can start each morning. At home I start the mornings with a mug of French Vanilla (International coffee), then on my way to work I run through Tudor's for a large French Vanilla Cappuchino.

If I'm on the road and out of this area, I LOVE my Venti Vanilla with Hazelnut Latte from Starbuck's.

The French Vanilla Cappachino at Fuzzy Duck (Morehead) is also a favorite!!!
