McCain compares Obama to Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears

Featured Replies

"In its latest TV ad hitting Obama, the McCain campaign calls Obama the "biggest celebrity in the world" -- and in the process shows clips of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton."

I thought McCain said he wanted a clean campain that focused on the real issues?

IMO this ad only appeals to those already in his pocket.

He sure is keeping this race clean. What a stupid comparison.

I am kind of shocked. I really didn't expect McCain to resort to these tactics.
Why not? Why would he treat Obama any more gently than he treated Mit Romney in the primaries?

Personally, I like negative campaigning but I would prefer seeing McCain going after Obama's liberal voting record, his associations with terrorists and socialists, and his inexperience. I also wish that McCain would begin taunting Obama for refusing to debate him early and often.

Instead, McCain is talking about how much he respects Nancy Pelosi and putting tax increases "on the table." McCain needs to shake up his campaign staff. If he is not in the race to win, then he should withdraw while Republicans still have time to regroup.

McCain should be hammering the miserable records of Pelosi and Reid every day and associating Obama with those two unpopular liberals the same way that Obama has attempted to portray McCain as a Bush clone. Instead, McCain is praising Pelosi. Unbelievable.

Agree on all points. Whomever is running this campaign should be fired.

You have to have a message focusing on differentiation. Instead, we get crap like this and implying Obama is OK with losing the war and losing lives if it means he wins his election.

I was an early McCain supporter and was told he was a RINO which was fine with me. However, he's been a big disappointment.

Obama advocated a short, firm timetable for withdrawing from Iraq when it would certainly would have resulted in defeat. At the time, he was trying to appeal to the far left wing of the party. McCain was absolutely correct when he said that Obama was willing to lose a war to win an election.

No way you make that accusation. You question the validity of his belief but you NEVER imply that a potential Commander in Chief is willing to give up many, many valuable lives just to win. No way.

Obama was opposed to the surge and would have already had the troops out of Iraq. There is no doubt that Obama's position at the time and his current position were both taken out of political expedience.

If you really want an honest campaign on the issues, then you should welcome the truth about Obama's poor judgment on the strategy in Iraq. McCain would be a fool not to remind people that Obama, Reid and the other liberal Democrats were willing to lose the war and blame Republicans for the loss in order to win elections in 2008.

Wrong. If Obama had had his way, we would not have been in Iraq in the first place. We would have concentrated our efforts in Afganistan instead.

How many Presidential Ads, are very informative and offer what they can do.

You might not like the facts, but the fact is that we are in Iraq and Obama did, in fact, advocate a timetable with no surge of troops, that would have resulted in the withdrawal from Iraq with no regard to the level of violence there. He promised an absolute withdraw to liberals during the primaries and now he advocates a strategy not that much different in the strategy that McCain proposed when it was not a politically popular stand to take.

Obama is a follower and McCain is right to highlight his young adversary's reluctance to make correct, decisive decisions that do not track current public opinion polls.

Reminds me of a Miranda Lambert tune.

Desperation

There's danger in frustration
