People only want to focus on one part of the story, how he overcame his addiction. Isn't the first half of the story where he became a selfish crack-head just as viable?

:thumb:

Let's all praise a guy for finally deciding to follow the law...

Just another jealous, ex-little leaguer, who never got off the bench on his High School Team.

So whoever doesn't kiss the ground that Hamilton walks on is jealous? Hysterical. But not of every other pro athlete?

Could the same be said for those who dislike Bonds? Dunn? Clemens?

Surely, you jest...

Some crack addicts die, some crack addicts go to jail, some crack addicts stay on crack and some crack addicts get off crack and live productive lives. Hamilton is nothing new when it comes to crack addicts. It is really not the story. The enormity of his story is that with practically no minor league experience and absolutely no major league experience, Hamilton, in a year and a half has become arguably the best player in MLB. That's the story.

Yes, all of American who doesn't get caught up in the Hamilton gaga is jealous. I am not jealous of former prodigy who turned his life to crack.. Not one bit..

Maybe I'm different, I don't compare them at all. What he did was wrong, selfish, and he has turned it around. He is trying to be a good person, but yes, there is a very small % of those who are VERY jealous. "My opinion"

I get the story, no one doesn't get the story...

But frankly, that doesn't explain why everyone is acting like he's number two to the Pope...

Hamilton was baseball's next big thing when he was drafted. Minus crack and IMO this same surge happens years ago.

Since he stopped doing drugs, he's trying to be a good person? Or is it that he's trying not to die in a sewer and is making $$$$$?

Isn't that, what makes his story so much more intriguing. He was projected to have potential, fell into the sewer and is getting his life back on track. The All-Star event, has even added to his notoriety,
I get the story, no one doesn't get the story...

The media has driven that. My head was hurting after the past two nights with the way those idiots carried on. Doesn't mean I have to dislike Hamilton because of it though.

You mean he would have skipped the minors and been the best in baseball halfway through his 2nd season? Wow, how many guys have done that?

So instead, he became a drug addict for a few years. Great guy...
