Georgia Mascot Uga VI Dies

I was reading in a book called "Dixie Delight" that UGA has to be kept on ice during games because his particular breed is very sensitive to heat.

Correction: Its called "Dixieland Delight."

This Uga , like his 5 predecessors, will be buried in a mausoleum outside of Sanford Stadium. Each Uga is the offspring of the previous Uga and the first Uga hit the sidelines in 1956.

They are English bulldogs which do not fare well in the heat and humidity of the south, thus, the ice.

Was in Athens last year.

In one of the tunnels leading out of the stadium their is a resting place for each of the UGA's. There is also a little memorial in the corner as well.

I smell an animal cruelty suit coming soon.

You are probably right :thumb:, P.E.T.A. will no doubt be all over this. That group of idiot's are against everything else.

Truth be known the "UGA's" probably lived a better life than some humans. Those dogs are very well taken care of and held in high esteem, the Georgia fans take their mascot very seriously.
