June 26, 200818 yr They were talking about this happening. Toronto will be tough down low next year with him and Bosh. I think they might have given up too much though.
June 26, 200818 yr I agree with O'Neal and Bosh the Raptors are top 3 in the East next year. Raptors will be tough but I don't know about top 3. O'Neil really hasn't played up to par with the seasons he's had in the past.
June 26, 200818 yr It is a good move for both teams; Pacers get a point guard in TJ Ford and another draft pick and the Raptors become a tough team to defend in the post. I don't know that this jumps them where they would like to be yet, but if O'Neal is healthy and still has something left this would make the Raptors a top team in the East.

June 26, 200818 yr I saw this trade when I got home from the bar...I really don't think it's great for either team. Neither team will do anything in the Eastern playoffs. I feel like the Pacers could have gotten something better, and the Raptors could have done a better deal for themsevles as well. T.J. Ford is a solid point guard (especially if his injury didn't occur last year).
June 26, 200818 yr Tough down low for sure, but they may need to add more scoring from the Perimeter. How deadly would they be if they added a Baron Davis or Gilbert Arenas to the mix??? Not sure on their cap situation but with trading Ford, Nesterovic, and the 17th pick they should have some available. Maybe this is the plan, thus the reason for letting Ford go in exchange for a big?
June 26, 200818 yr If they could add a player of that caliber, which I don't think they can, then they would definitely be a complete top Eastern contender in my mind.
June 26, 200818 yr Thinking more this is probably better for the Raptors. I had Ford on my fantasy baskeball team last year, pretty solid til he got hurt and I picked up Calderon who really didnt let up to much for me. If O'Neil stays healthy this was probably a good move for the Raptors cause I don't think they lose to much from Ford to Calderon.
