Yup, it's what I got my degree in. No $ in it, had to turn to the private sector.

 

 

As far as me goes, I worked 30-48 hrs a week in college, sometimes working 3rd shifts and I still graduated in 4 1/2 years. I can definitely say that not all of the younger generation wants things handed to them.

...and a complete generalization, that the generation before you most likely said about your generation.

Fantastic and congratulations. With that work ethic you will go far. And speaking for me (and I think some of the others that posted critical things about your generation) I didn't mean to imply that all of your generation wanted things handed to them. But there were a couple of posts that caused me to conclude that the belief of entitlement has now permeated to some of the members of your generation, and that is alarming (and probably caused some of the more critical posts).

 

Heck, its members of your generation that are making major sacrifices voluntarily serving in our military, and God bless them. Any one with a lick of sense realizes that not all of your generation wants things handed to them.

 

And I know it isn't easy (and I think most of the other critical posters feel the same way) to work a couple of jobs while going to school in order to make ends meet. But its really nothing new. Many of us old fogeys did it too and also incurred a lot of debt to get our degrees. I have little sympathy for those students that own cars, have cell phones, go out to bars, can afford BGP membership () yet complain about tuition and state they deserve help with tuition. And there are those people out there. They remind me of the people grousing on their cell phones about how the high price of gas is really, really hurting them as they stand at the pump and then go into the gas station and buy cigarettes and lottery tickets when they pay for the gas. Uh, if you can afford a cell phone, cigs and lottery tickets, then you can afford the gas.

 

But again, as your post and a couple of other posters has proven, not everyone in your gen feels they deserve anything. I hope that when I am older and grayer, that people like you are leading this country and businesses.:thumb:

Yea I've got student loans, but I gladly mail that $157 a month in with a smile. I saw it as an investment, not a bill.

It has taken me 4 1/2 years as well.
