FB, I like and respect you. I appreciate that you defend all the kids at Rose Hill, but come on. You, justifiably so, will have a lot of trouble explaining three transfers from one school to one basketball rich school in the same off season. I even gave Euton the benefit of the doubt, and understood about his father loosing his job. I even tried to give Jackson the benefit of doubt, and yes I know the inside of both situations.

 

Flannery, I started having doubts. But, with Barber now transferring to Scott County, I can no longer say that it is just coincidence.

 

It don't matter to me if they are all rules eligible. I won't be bothered either way. But, I don't see how anyone can say that none of these transfers are for athletic reasons. I'm not looking to argue, just saying how I see it.

I heard from my head coach that the Hall Kid from Fairview did indeed move to Glasgow. Reason because dad got head coaching job there for basketball.

Ya' know, this brings up an interesting point.

 

How is it that a kid who moves with a parent that's a coach can be eligible immediately following the family move for mom or dad to take on a new coaching job, when the whole reason for the move is for "athletic reasons"?

 

I'm not knocking the Hall kid, or any other kid who moves with a parent that's a coach. I have no problem with them being eligible. It's not their fault their parents have to work and move. I'm just wondering how the KHSAA justifies separating these clearly athletic moves from parents moving for jobs outside of coaching.

Even with 3 starters gone at Rose Hill from last year's squad, I'll pick them to win the 64th district and Ashland as the 2 seed. Without Hall, Fairview will finish 3rd with Boyd the doormat. The first seed in the district come tourney time is crucial, because I think that the top 3 are close enough that the 2-3 game is a cointoss. Of course, that's just my opinion and it never really has mattered much in the grand scheme of things.

I was at Rose Hill yesterday. They will have a pair of big boys. Mike Terry has to be 6'6" now. And there is a new kid there who is at least that tall. A little experience and they will be a top team.

The new kid that you are talking about is Colin Kennedy. He played for East Carter last year on the JV team. His dad moved him there this year so that he would have a chance of starting on a varsity team. He is a tall kid that has a lot of talent but it may not take long for the Rose Hill faithful to get really tired of dealing with some others that come along with him.

What grade is the kid actually in? Was he not good enough to start varsity at East Carter or is he still pretty young?

He is a sophomore and no he wouldn't have been a starter. He would have seen plenty of playing time being the first big man off the bench but that wasn't what was desired by some.

Correct. I am wrong. All 5 have floated away. Only one of them out the front door.
