I think it shows a little bit, but no, one bad summer game does not say they will be bad. It just shows us a glimpse that they aren't as good as they have been. They aren't a top ten team, sorry.

 

Botkin is okay but he wouldn't have made up a 15 point difference. I think Clark would have still beat them.

 

I will say this. As of right now with what they have including the transfer and kids that have decided to go to high school at LexCath, they are not a top 10 team. By January I believe they will be. Event though the new guys are very young they can all play and are very athletic.

Thats a very fair post. I'm just basing my opinion on the returning talent that I know that they have. They could even up a top 10 team but they aren't at the beginning of the season.

This kid is athletic, but will only be an impact player in high school if he grows and most of all if he develops better basketball skills. Through middle school he has basically out athleted other players. He will not be the next William Graham.

It's definetly a shame he and Ivey won't be at Franklin next year.

Not sandbagging are we? Mason should be a top 25 team this year but will take a lump or two.

Bowling Green should be solid but I don't think they'll be able to make it out of the 4th with Warren Central in there. Also BG lost three of their top players in Moore, Mcmillan, and Williams.

Williams is the point guard and main man running the show. He's only 5'9 but will probably be the fastest guy on the court no matter what. Awesome handles and an excellent pass first point who always hustles. Best defender I'd say.

 

Hatton is about 6'2 who can shoot the three and take his man off the dribble.

 

Rogers will probably be the 5th starter and he's about 6'4-6'5. Big body, rebounds well and finishes good around the rim.

 

Another big body off the bench will be Pervis. He's about 6'5-6'6 who has a pretty decent shot. He needs to get a little more physical but that will come as he gets older.

OK, I know, it's summer ball, but what did anyone think about the matchups on the floor. And yes I understand that both teams played games before their matchup at 2:30 PM. FC probably had a longer break between games. Both teams were missing key players. For GRC....6'8" Zollo and point guard Williams. For FC 6'6" Ryan Conner and 6'0" Deron Hicks.

 

All that said and with who each team had on the floor, can Franklin County compete with preseason top 5 GRC?

You can't really go by last year. Most of these teams will be a lot different than they were this past year. Elliot Co. being the only exception since they have pretty much their exact team back.
