Last year Franklin County was young, and really the first year of playing varsity together. Even without Hicks and Conner they look more cohesive. When those two get their basketball legs this fall, FCHS will be formidable.

 

Saw GRC this weekend. They are also going to be a very good team. Without Zollo they still have great scorers in Stenzel and Hatton and some good strong athletes inside.

OK, I know, it's summer ball, but what did anyone think about the matchups on the floor. And yes I understand that both teams played games before their matchup at 2:30 PM. FC probably had a longer break between games. Both teams were missing key players. For GRC....6'8" Zollo and point guard Williams. For FC 6'6" Ryan Conner and 6'0" Deron Hicks.

 

All that said and with who each team had on the floor, can Franklin County compete with preseason top 5 GRC?

 

Heard that Franklin Co. couldn't miss against GRC. Like you said, both teams were missing players and it was their 5th game in 2 days so I wouldn't put much stock into it. There were some good games this weekend. Franklin Co. will be tough. They will atleast be top 20 but probably better than that.:thumb:

I expect Franklin Co to be a top 10-15 team this year. They return a lot from last year's team that only lost to SC by 9 I believe. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see FC make some noise this year.

Lost by 5 to SC in the regional tourney in a game that could have gone either way. SC however is loading up this year as well known. I believe Franklin County is poised for a very good season.

True. I wouldn't be surprised if FC did knock off a few state powers this year though. They'll have plenty of opportunities playing in the 11th and playing other tough schools like Holmes.
