I read all the posts. During the game all many did was complain about the calls and no calls. (There was a debate for almost two pages)

 

As for the plane ride...Even Popovich said the plane debacle had nothing to do with his team's late-game problems.

 

As many minutes as poor poor Manu may have played in the last game do you not think the other players were just as tired considering the minutes they played? I don't buy the whole being tired excuse. This is the playoffs. Nobody else seemed to look tired.

 

The announcers were the ones who said it, not Manu, not Pop.

 

Popovich is not going to make excuses whether they are true or not. He's not the type, you know that.

I turned on the game long enough to see the Lakers down by 20, muttered a few curse words and turned it off.

 

Turn it back on to watch the finale, just unbelievable.

Guys it's 1 game. Spurs showed that they could play with the Lakers in LA, they just blew it in the end. I believe that the Spurs will probably come back and take a 2-1 lead in the series, and wouldn't be surprised if it came back to LA and the Lakers were down 3-1. Or it could be vice versa. It's a good series no matter the outcome.

Of course Pop isn't going to make excuses but he told it like it was. They got worn down and it was by a much younger team. IMO if Kobe takes over the game in the first half like he chose to in the second, the Lakers are never even in that situation, down 20.

 

The Spurs may have experience, but Kobe and Fisher's experience combined with the excitement the young guys bring, are the equaling factor.

Lakers outscored the Spurs 44-20 in the last 20 minutes. They looked rusty coming out being they hadn't played in a few days, but once they shook the cob-webs off, they went to work.

Refs has NOTHING to do with it. Pretty sure they didn't blow the 20 point lead. The hate for the Lakers on here is comical at times.

 

I would have loved to seen the pushoff called on Kobe Bryant when he pushed of Bowen and hit the game winning shot. I am not going to bash the refs for that, but refs in general. Kobe Bryant got the star treatment and that happens too much in sports, but the fact is he pushed off in order to get an open jumpshot and that is illegal.

I am a little biased since the Lakers are my favorite team, so I will say the Lakers in six.

The Lakers were not down 20 until the 3rd quarter. It wasn't in the 1st half that they were down 20.

 

So you can use the "Lakers were rusty" excuse, but I'm not allowed to use the "Spurs were tired" excuse? Why? Seems possible that the long wait on a plane, the 7 game series, and the old age might contribute to causing a team to wear down late in a game right?

I thought there was 1 really weak call. Another one looked a little worse on replay than live IMO with Duncan. But yes he gets the benefit of the doubt as well.

The no-call on Bryant was really annoying because it was right in the middle of the floor in plain view and it allowed Bryant to shoot a wideopen 10 footer.

I thought the officiating was pretty good last night...much better than what I saw in round 2. The only really bad call (or no-call) that I saw was the out-of-bounds on Duncan at the end...

 

The play with Kobe was a good no-call. He didn't extend his arm and shove Bowen off...there was some contact, but Bowen done some over-acting to try and draw a foul, IMO. I think it was a calculated attempt by him and a smart move. He just didn't get the call. If there isn't a blatant shove and extending of the arm, that should be a no-call.

Actually, I must correct myself...they played roughly 17 minutes and 31 seconds...not the original 20 that I stated previously.
