Hate to hear that about Shotwell if true. However, he may not be the last "transferee" that we hear this about in the next few months.

I think the KHSAA is going to have to do some kind of reform with all the transferring that is going on. Either let every transfer go, or make them all sit out a year regardless. Or maybe adopt rules like in Ohio. I think there, you can do one transfer during your "career" regardless of reason.

Jackson is already good to go. Believe they were supposed to hear about Euton either last week or this week. All seemed well for that one as well. No clue on the other kid, but wouldnt imagine a problem there either since they are/have moved.

I thought the KHSAA approved a new rule within the last year about transferring between public and private schools. It was a compromise instead of having 2 separate state tournaments.

Maybe I am wrong (getting older ya know). Anyway, if I am incorrect, I apologize. Any KHSAA rule guru's out there?

Thanks....

There is not a rule like that. There is currently an agreement between LCA and public schools that if a player transfers after they have entered the 7th grade, the player will sit out one year. No official KHSAA rule for pub/priv though. His case is in appeals and they are awaiting a ruling.

Obviously, speculation about future dominance is just that. However, it will be interesting to see how these players grow and mature over the next 3 years. There could very well be a new stud emerge in KY by 2011.

Haven't heard about the new rule. Big thing with Shotwell is that he never moved. I believe they are going the route that he couldnt afford to pay for school at LCA and pay for gas, etc. We'll see how it turns out.

I believe it's already turned out.

Funny Guy, but agreed that arm chair coaching is alot eaiser than coaching the game, I may have been escorted out by the police if confronted with the same situation. In this situation it is simply the pot calling the kettle black :jump:

No, you wouldn't have been escorted out. Somebody I know would have calmed you down before it got out of hand. Shouldn't that be the role of the assistant coach. But, more than that, no matter how mad you would have gotten you would have been smart enough (and all coaches should) not to take your team out of the game by your personal agenda.

I heard this past weekend in the OH state 13U AAU tournament, a coach proceeded to pull off his polo shirt and throw it on the court, then ripped (and I mean literally rip) off his T-shirt. The coach was standing there bare-chested and yelling at the refs. How insane is that?

Could "the coach" have been you :scared:......nevermind you all were in state last week!

In the short time I was there I seen a ton of people acting crazy and setting an awful example for kids. Coaches and parents alike were acting crazy. I was glad to see refs start throwing parents and coaches out.

How sad.
