JD, I cannot argue with any of your numbers, I agree with you 100% about the Belfry program, however, I do not think the moving of the Friday night game has anything to do with them personally. I think that they just wanted to give other parts of the County an opportunity to host the game. I don't think its anything more than that.

The important word in the above post is "give." I think some people are upset because, not specifically because Shelby Valley will be hosting games, but because that honor has been "given" and not "earned."

When Valley had the games before I really enjoyed my trip there.

The stadium was very nice and the games were good.

The Pike Co. School Board had no say in who hosted what game or where. The Pike Co. Bowl has a committee of members that decide the event.

It will never be moved from Pikeville period. Because the bank towers behind it and is great advertisement. But I have no problem with that one its logic. I wished since they took it out of Belfry they would atleast put Belfry and Pikeville together on same night.

It is true that Mr. Osborne is the chair of the committee and the B.O.E. member from S.V. However, I think its fair to point out that Mr. Osborne was on the Pike Co. Bowl Committee long before he became a B.O.E. member. Why wouldn't Mr. Wagner accept the recommendation of the Pike Co. Bowl Committee? If he didn't accept thier recommendation, what would have prevented the Bowl Committee from having all the games at Pikeville H.S.?

The bowl will never be moved from Pikeville because it is the bank's bowl and Community Trust Bank's headquarters is in Pikeville, period.

 

I agree, Belfry and Pikeville should play the same night.

That allows the bowl to retain a bit of the original intrigue.
