No, I think it's the most basic form of gun safety. Unsecured, loaded weapons are what end up killing children and unintended victims. Fine, if you want it loaded; but secure it somehow.

you can get a nice ak-47 for around 335. Reliable and accepts high capacity mags.

:thumb: I agree, I don't think that an intruder is going to give one time to get the gun, then retrive the ammo and load the gun .

Of course make sure that the gun is in a place where you can easily acsess it but a child cannot. That imo goes without saying.

No need to argue the point, because the facts are clear. It takes about 30 seconds to unlock a properly stored weapon. If you keep an unlocked, loaded weapon in your home, you are doing the very worst thing possible to protect your family. Simple as that.
