April 30, 200818 yr Afternoon baseball AND it's on FSN! :thumb: With Freel starting we are guaranteed to have at least one :scared: play in the game where he shows us his HOF talent. It's not on FSN Ohio is it?
April 30, 200818 yr It's not on FSN Ohio is it? Sure is, pre-game on now. I know the business "person" special is normally not on TV, but no complaints from me today. :thumb:

April 30, 200818 yr Appreciate some updates. Thanks:thumb: I'm sure a few of us here can help you out. According to Dusty's comments, Looper likes to attack the hitter, so the Reds need to be ready to attack him.
April 30, 200818 yr Freel leadoff single, goes to 2nd on groundout, Jr walks. 1st and 2nd one out. Time to bring em in BP. BP flyout, runners stay, now 2 outs. Dunn grounds out. :irked: Go to the bottom of the 1st, no score. If there has to be some good news, it's that Looper threw 27 pitches that inning.

Dunn grounds out. :irked: Go to the bottom of the 1st, no score. I watched Dunn's AB, and I know this has been harped upon forever, but he simply has to be more aggressive. He takes two pretty good pitches, and then has only one swing in the AB, and grounds out weakly.

Dunn is saving it for a ninth inning blast when the Reds are hopelessly out of it.

He takes two pretty good pitches, and then has only one swing in the AB, and grounds out weakly. Yep, Marty and Thom mentioned that Dusty told him to be aggressive if he sees a pitch early on that he likes. My thinking is, WHY does Dunn have to be told that???? He has been in the league for a few years now, why does he still have to be told that?? The walks are an unappreciated stat, I agree with that, but attack it if you like it. Don't wait around. But yes, Dunn will be happy to hit a 500 foot home run when the Reds are down 12 runs in the 9th.
April 30, 200818 yr Harang throws right around 15 pitches and breezes through the 1st. Go to the 2nd, no score. E-5 with his 7th homer of the year, 1-0 Reds

April 30, 200818 yr Votto follows the home run with a double. I think it's safe to say that if the Reds keep this approach at the plate, Looper isn't going to be around long. Ross strikes out, 1 out. Harang grounds out, Votto to 3rd. Alright Mr Brain Cramp, time for a clutch hit. Freel with a weak grounder to 3rd, infield hit. 2-0 Reds  Keppinger flies out. 2-0 Reds going to the bottom of the 2nd. Looper now at 51 pitches.
April 30, 200818 yr Just a bizarre inning, Cards get a leadoff hit, but then hit into a double play. They then proceed to get 3 consecutive base hits to load the bases. Including hits by Jason Larue and Looper. A ball bounces away from Ross in front of the plate, scoring a run. They get Larue in a run down to end the inning. 2-1 Reds going to the third. Thom mentioned an interesting stat, whenever Griffey hits his next home run, it will be his 200th as a Red. If Dunn is in the lineup that day, it will be the first time since 1981 that the Reds have had 2 guys with 200 home runs as Reds in the lineup the same day. I believe he said those guys were Foster and Bench.
April 30, 200818 yr Dunn with a clutch 2 out hit with the bases empty. E-5 grounds out to end inning. Go to the bottom of the 3rd, 2-1 Reds. Schumaker a one out double, Miles a single, Freel's throw just up the 3rd base line and he slides in under the tag to tie the game at 2. Pujols a single, 1st and 2nd, 1 out. Saying Harang is struggling is being kind. Ankiel singles, scores Miles now 3-2 Cards. Jr throws it to third and the Reds catch a break as Ankiel slides past 2nd base, 2 outs. Pujols at 3rd. Going to the 4th, 3-2 Cards. Harang at 53 pitches.
April 30, 200818 yr Reds go quietly in the 4th, go to the bottom of the inning, 3-2 Cards. Harang with an easy 4th, go to the 5th, 3-2 Cards.
