April 27, 200818 yr Same reason Jasper is thinking of leaving. It is a long long way from home. It's expensive to go watch your kid play, and it's expensive for him to come home. I doubt that most mainland kids that go to Hawaii come home more than once a year. And why would they come home if it is the great place you are making it out to be? Here's why. Its a great place to visit, but I'm not sure its a great place to live.

Have you lived there? I lived there. For a while. But my work brought me back here. It's a great place to live, I will go back someday.

April 27, 200818 yr Congrats to him. I hope he gets qualified and does well. We all have to realize that Lexington isn't for everyone guys. When you grow up a UK fan living in Kentucky, it obviously would be a dream come true to live in Lexington and play for UK. Not all the recruits out there have the same dream as we UK fans have and you must respect that. He's not dumb for going to Hawaii. It was his choice. For whatever reason, I'm sure he made the choice he thought would be best for him.
April 27, 200818 yr We're all sitting here on both sides of this, and one thing keeps jumping up at me. We're all talking UH or UK when the kid's decision may mean JACK SQUAT if he needs the kind of hours everyone is saying he needs. Any chance UK realized that he was not going to be able to help next year and pulled the plug while UH was willing to take a chance? If he can just pull 12 or more semester hours out of thin air, I want to go to that JUCO. Just wondering if it could happen.

He better get busy this summer is all I am going to say, if not JUCO for life.
April 27, 200818 yr I wondered while we were after him if he was one of those kids that would be looking some French class credits in the face to get out of some JUCO school. Then I found out he was liking a lot more than a few hours and wondered why we were after a guy who would not be eligible (NOT the same scenario as Liggins, either) this season.
April 28, 200818 yr What's the quickest way to go from big time player to a bum? Pick somewhere other than UK... Is that not the best statement I have ever heard? :thumb:
