The curse will live on, it has to, its just way to powerful to be stopped. Maybe Favre found out he would be on the cover this year, thus the reason he opted for retirement?

 

But no in all seriousness this is really a great move by EA to have Favre on the cover. Either they were doing it to keep from ruining the seasons of superstar athletes or the most obvious doing it in remembrance of NFL's ironman. Both very acceptable reasons for me.

I think they had to go with the retiring Favre because no active player in their right mind would go within a half mile of the cover shoot.

I was thinking the same thing. This is a very clever move by EA Sports. It was almost to the point that they were going to have to go with a blank cover! Look what it did to Shaun Alexander's career!
