UL Spring game tonight

Featured Replies

Who else is going to be there? I plan on tailgating as well, the weather will be perfect.

I heard Kragthorpe say that soph. Doug Beaumont (Receiver-Male H.S.) and redshirt frosh Victor Anderson (RB-Lou. St. X) are having excellent springs. Krag says he coaches the receivers. He expects to run the ball more this year and is deep at RB.

They won't even play their Spring game on Saturday?

I seem to recall it always being on a Friday actually.

As far as I can remember, yup.

So, thoughts on this?

I wasn't able to make it, what are the opinions of those in attendance?

The attendance was pretty good. The offense will be loaded.

How did the running game look?

Will the defense be improved?

Who is going to step up at WR to replace Douglas?

I thought the running game looked good. I would have thought with Jeff being a product of Schnell that wewould have seen a lot more weakside iso but Bolen looked really good on the zone runs he has the ability to make that one cut and get the hole.

The Defense did compete but I didn't see anything that says that we are going to have any play makers on that side of the ball.

Not sure that there is a replacement for Harry right now but I think overall the WR core will be just as productive. The receiver core as a hole looks huge. Not just from the spring game but from spring practices in general they fight for the ball better than they did last year. Last year in practice it looked as if Mario and Harry were always open and making easy catches. These guys aren't as wide open but they catch the ball when covered and in traffic

I thought the defense looked horrible- they need some work.

The defense still has a lot of guys that are very key parts not practicing. No way to evaluate defense yet, although they were tackling better and lining up in the right spots. The D-Line looked good, IMO.

Offensively, I'm excited to see that UofL once again has a running game.

On a Friday night, UofL had 17,000 people come to the spring game... how many showed up at Commonwealth the next day?

I think they only had about 8500 is what I read.
