April 23, 200818 yr Yeah, because we all know it's always the receiver's fault...Palmer was off last year, there's no denying that. There's also no denying that the offensive line was decimated with Levi, Willie, and Ghiachiac out for significant time and the O-line was in Palmer's lap, which makes it hard for a QB to be on. Of course Palmer made mistakes, but compare his cushion to the O-line to when Brady throws the ball. We all saw what happened to Brady when he gets pressured all game long; he loses as does every NFL QB!
April 23, 200818 yr I'd still take it. CJ is a great receiver, so there is a pretty good chance he'll produce for the Skins... But, I would keep the stance that Chad is staying until after June 1st and try to drive the offer up to a guaranteed first rounder in '09...I still think you take a future 1st and 3rd rounder for a disgruntled, 30-year old WR. Would you take whoever the Skins draft in the 1st round this year?????(just curious)
April 23, 200818 yr Ignorant if you ask me. No way you turn down that type of deal. Not accepting a $13 million cap hit is not too hard to reject!($8 for Chad + $5 for Skins 1st rounder) No team in the NFL could absorb that, nor would they!
April 23, 200818 yr What rookie mistakes are you talking about, like when Chad would read the defense wrong and run a wrong route. No more like the ones when he would stare at T.J. from the time he left the line of scrimmage til the time he let go of the ball into the hands of a safety or linebacker that he never accounted for.

Games Played: Willie/7 Ghaichiac/12 Levi/15 I wouldn't count on this O Line as being any more than mediocre this year. Unless they draft a T early.

April 24, 200818 yr Fewest QB sacks in team history in 2007... I'm not sure that means anything. Shouldn't you be walking across a bridge or something:D 2nd worse rushing team in the AFC. Thats on the line as much as the RB. Stats can be manipulated in many different ways.
April 24, 200818 yr Would you take whoever the Skins draft in the 1st round this year?????(just curious) Good point...for some reason it didn't register with me that the draft was obviously going to happen before June 1st... I'm legally brain dead, I think. I'd take the trade now and make the money work...they could get rid of some guys to make room for their rookie class. It seems with the Bengals there is always a reason not to make the deal, a reason it won't work, or something else falls through...while other teams find a way to make it work. Chad Johnson is a top 5 receiver in the NFL...there is a probably chance that he'll produce enough to make the 2009 pick a first rounder. I just can't see any way to justify passing on two first round picks for a disgruntled WR...especially for a team that has more than just one need to address.

Unless they draft a T early. Levi was deactivated or didn't play for several games early in the season; if you remember, he was upset about it; I believe his 1st start was against Allen of KC and it was obvious he wasn't 100% or game ready; he played against Allen the previous year and didn't come close to doing that poorly. There were some crucial games where all 3 were out or less than 100%.

Teams of course make trades, but not with players who have 3+ years left on their contract after signing a huge signing bonus! They would have to cut many starters who have the big contracts; that is not feasible!

Levi has not really produced to the level his draft selection would warant. If I'm picking a left T in the 1st round, dude should be an all pro stud. Levi has not performed at that level. Actually it is more the orgs fault for selecting him as high as they did. If you remember correctly the guys on TV went crazy when the Bengals selected him, calling the Bengals the laughing stock of the NFL.
