Did I seriously just read that Paul Bako is an offensive threat as a catcher? Seriously? Yes he has had a good run but it will not last, I wish it would, but it won't.

 

As far as Adam Dunn, I'm a late arriver to the boards but what is the debate exactly? I see a lot of touchiness going on.

 

From a perspective of someone who watches the Reds very often (on TV, not in person unfortunately) I cringe when I see Adam Dunn step to the plate in meaningful situations. It is my opinion that yes he puts up nice numbers, but the numbers don't underline what I watch day in and day out. It would not break my heart to see Dunn on another team. Do I root against him, no, am I a fan of his, NO. This is of course just my opinion.

You've got to be kidding about an offensive catcher right? The key there is for the moment in time. Bako is a career backup, nothing more. He's never played more than 96 games, hit more than 4 homeruns, driven in more than 30. He hasn't hit over .250 since 1999, and he's 35 years old. He's had a good couple of weeks--that's all.

 

Which is still a couple of good weeks better than most of the Reds' hitters have had. :irked: Might as well play the hot hand with him for as long as it lasts. Ross doesn't exactly bring any impressive offensive stats to the table - career .236 avg, .300 OBP, with a strikeout every 3.25 AB's. His hitting career basically rests on one season (2006) and, more specifically, the first half of that season. Catching is not exactly a strength for the Reds.

A lineup that makes sense, at least to me.

The lineup yesterday was simply to get guys 2 days off and get a lot of righties in there, nothing more and nothing less no need to get all upset about it.

An MRI showed Alex Gonzalez still has fracture in his knee. He can take groundballs but he can't run for 2 to 4 weeks.:irked:

Bailey with another good outing, and was more efficient with his pitches tonight. The Bats play a doubleheader so both games are only 7 innings.

The Bats lead 3-2 as Bill Bray comes in to try and save the game.

Bray strikes out the two batters he faces to save the game, and give Bailey his 2nd win of the season.

I think Bray will be called up pretty soon. See ya Coffey.

Yes, E-5 is playing awful right now, but this means Keppinger stays on the field. Nothing wrong with that.

The Reds will definately get a win Thursday. Lilly is back to pitching like his old self.
