Ohio has six classes for football, but only four for basketball.

I was surprised to see how many of the young men from last night were still undecided. There were several players from both teams who could play at the D1 level whether it be D1-AA or small to mid major D1-A

 

There is no DI-AA in basketball, it's either DI, DII, or DIII for the NCAA. Oops.:banana:

Only six for football. Other sports vary in the number of divisions. Basketball has four divisions. I like to help when I can.

I have been told that this game has more players playing in college and in the NBA than the KY/IN all star game and also the North/South game played in OH. Anyone know this for a fact?

 

 

I can't believe that would be true for the KY/IN game.

D1-AA only exists in football, there is no such thing in basketball. That is why there are only 100+ football teams and 300+ basketball teams.

 

I think you misread my post. When I said D1-AA I was referring to the small or mid major D1 schools.

Why wasn't Setty listed in the box score? I know he didn't score but even that being the case their individual line usually are listed.

I saw this game also. It's funny, why is Trevor Setty the only kid from Kentucky to be called out as playing bad? I really didn't see anyone wearing blue play very good. There was NOTHING exciting about this game at all!

 

 

If you go back to post #6....someone asked why he didn't play. I assume they asked (maybe) because Setty wasn't listed in the stats. So someone answered in post #7 that he did play and didn't score. If you look at the stats, post #2, they apparantly only listed the players that scored. In post #8 it seemed like his lack of points was being defended as just having a bad day. I didn't really think anyone was intentionally "calling him out".

Sounds like Ohio was having a better day.

Outside of the already mentioned kids from OH who have signed with D-1 schools there wasn't a lot of D-1 talent in this game IMO. KY had no one I can see contributing at a low-major (is that even a term used?) D-1 school.

I think Setty was 0-7 according to the herald leader box score.

 

I am not here to call anyone out I just found it ironic that all year Mason Co. fans talked about how great this kid was and then they changed their tune after it looks like he should have been suspended for the state finals saying they could have won without him no problem. Some people on this site have tried to have it both ways.

I'm sure you can go on a thread and prove me wrong here, but if I were a betting man, I'd say people didn't say "they could've won without him," more so that he didn't play good and yet they still won. I can't imagine any team being told they're going to lose their second/third best player an hour before tipoff still being able to play to the best of their ability.

 

I don't think anyone changed their tune about this kid, he's still great. Everyone has bad shooting nights. It just stinks this happened on a bigger stage when he's still trying to decide where to play. But a good coach won't look at one night as a deciding factor. It's obvious Trevor can play.

This was probably a definite bad shooting night for Setty. However it also brings up the question just how much did he benefit from all those open looks while everyone was keying on Miller so much? Or how much did he benefit from Millers passing ability & unselfishness. You will not find to many Mr. Basketballs giving up so many shots to open teammates. I'm sure Setty would have excelled on most any team but how many other quality shooters would have been all-state playing with Miller? Unfortunatley Middleton may find out the hard way next season.
