March 31, 200818 yr I was sort of surprised last night that they had him bringing the ball up the floor at the end of the game. With a point like Richards and a kid like Curry who knows how to use a screen to get open... sounds like a game winner to me. I agree completely. I don't know what they were doing. They did not even get a decent shot off.
March 31, 200818 yr I agree completely. I don't know what they were doing. They did not even get a decent shot off. I think it was the fact that they wanted the ball in his hands and Kansas would have snuffed all out screens to keep him from getting it if their point guard would have brought it up the court. Kansas had already caught most screens and they weren't going to let him get open, so instead, they put the ball in his hands. I would have probably don't the same thing as a coach, but bring the ball quicker up court and set several screens with other players and let him work around them with the ball already in his hands. With the point guard having control of the ball, there is no guarantee that they'll get the ball to Curry - this way, it's a guarantee that he has the ball.
March 31, 200818 yr Very smart decision on his part. Learn to play the point to have a great career in the league. HE was a PG in HS.
March 31, 200818 yr Stupid Move. He would be a first rounder this year with guarenteed money! His stock can only go down.
March 31, 200818 yr I think he should enter his name and not hire an agent and just see where he might go. If he was a first rounder he would be crazy not to go.
March 31, 200818 yr The problem is, Davidson needs him so badly for scoring that even if they start calling him a point, he's really still a combo guard. I wouldn't rule out an inch or two in growth, btw- he looks so young, I can't be convinced he's a day over 15.

Ok, so the guy guarding him is going over the screen, the guy guarding the screener is going to hedge on it hard. Cut to the basket for a lay-up. Davidson had a guy wide-open for a lay-up and they missed him. Just said I was surprised. Guess we'll never know.
March 31, 200818 yr Stupid Move. He would be a first rounder this year with guarenteed money! His stock can only go down. You are badly mistaken! His dad played for how many years in the NBA. He knows his son is not only not ready, but not a first round pick. He will greatly work on getting stronger, hoping to grow a few more inches, and improving his game for the Davidson Wildcats next season.
March 31, 200818 yr Did anyone else hear them talking about his dad not allowing him to play in the big summer camps to where many of the large schools (UNC, UK, Duke, Kansas... etc.) go to, to scout players?
March 31, 200818 yr I think he is making the right decision. His game reminded by of Reggie Miller, but unlike Miller he is 6'2" compared to Miller's 6'6". His best chance of making it in the league is to play the point or grow 2-4 inches. --- As for the last play... I liked the idea of having the ball in his hands. I just thought they did not give themselves an opportunity for a 2 point shot. The last play looked as if they were down 3 and had to hit a trey to win. Kansas wholesaled on the perimeter. When the defender fell down on top, if Curry would have driven to the basket, he could have gotten as easy look, or possibly kicked it out to for an open 3 or lay-up underneath.
April 1, 200818 yr You guys are getting way too concerned about Curry's height. He can flat put the ball in the hole and he has all the tricks to get around and over the bigger guys. He will have a home in the NBA and he will play. Ask these guys if they'd like to be 6'2" and probably still growing: Earl Boykins, Denver 5'5" Brian Chase, Utah 5'9" Nate Robinson, New York 5'9" Andre Barrett, Chicago 5'10" Brevin Knight, Charlotte 5'10" Damon Stoudamire, Memphis 5'10" Mike Wilks, Seattle 5'10" Chucky Atkins, Memphis 5'11" T.J. Ford, Toronto 5'11" John Lucas, Houston 5'11" Darrick Martin, Toronto 5'11" Speedy Claxton, Atlanta 5'11"

April 1, 200818 yr I don't see anyone I would compare him to in that list. I think he'll probably be better than anyone on that list. I was just trying to prove the point that his height won't be an issue.
