Reds send Bruce to minors

OK, I haven't seen a thing on the Reds. Has he sucked?

Missed about six games, and still only 3 hits behind the leaders. But I will except the move, and move on.

As Reds fans I think we are all excited about seeing him in the everyday lineup. I think it was the right thing if they didn't feel like he is ready right now. Why throw him to the wolves especially if he isn't 100%. Let him get some confidence rolling early on and slide him in fully healthy. I don't think they can leave him down long or I'll be fired up but if he's not ready then he's not ready. If it's a toss up then I'd bring him up and give it a shot but I'm sure they know more than we do (wait a minute maybe not:)!

He didn't perform well this spring in his first shot, and it's better to place him in AAA for a little while rather than thrusting him in to PT at a vital position on a team that needs a fast start in the worst way. He'll get his shot this year, just not right away.

He's a very level headed kid. Unlike what I know of Bailey, he gets it. Anything else???

I agree. From my understanding of MLB it would be more desirable to have a hot, young prospect come up and stay for good, perhaps a little later, than come up and get sent back down.

Just for the record. I know he's a top 10 talent on this 40 man. Maybe top 5. Just not his time YET...

The Cubs should have kept Feliz Pie in the minors for another year. What are they doing now? Shopping for a centerfielder.

Does anybody know how healthy he is right now?

He's fine. He had a minor setback a few weeks ago...

And for the record. The sarcasm is here to stay. Guess I'm not smarter than that after all... :lol:

I'm shocked...:argue::D

Jay Bruce will be an outstanding baseball player. Going into spring it was never believed that he would make the club to start the system. I would much prefer him to stay in AAA and play every day. It beats him playing sporadically and having only marginal success. The worst scenario would be to put him on the big league team and have him perform at a less than expected level and then force the Reds to send him down. I would be more worried about the effects of sending him back in May rather than having him come up in May, June or July.

If he's healthy then I'd like to see him a Red sooner rather than later. I wonder how he feels about everything?

Sure sounds like a guy who is counting down every minute until he's eligible for free agency. :lol::lol:
