Breathitt County used their height advantage and taking care of the basketball in the 2nd half. Rowan County couldn't get any shots to fall in the 2nd half. Breathitt County goes on a 16-2 run and the Lady Cats were down 7 points in the 3rd quarter. Rowan County knocks down 5 3's in the first half and only 1 in the final seconds of the 2nd half.

 

Rowan County had a phenominal year. Good luck to Breathitt County as they face Dupont Manual. :walk:

Rowan County loses Spurlock, Barr, and Howard next year. They will still have Martin, Riddle, Brockman, Kiser, Kissenger and others back for next year.

Great win for Breathitt Co but they have a very tough game ahead of them!

This is kind of a disappointing loss for Rowan. I thought they might be able to win a game or two with this team. Either way, great season and they've made their county proud!

What grade is Shouse? It seems like she has been there forever, at least to the rest of the region that she's layed some big numbers on:D. If she's a senior she will be hard to replace. She is a special kind of player, and should be All-State with no problem.

Breathitt will have no size advantage against Manual, it may actually be the other way. Nothing against Bloody Breathitt, my daddy's from Lost Creek, but Manual cruises in this one. Too much size, with beef, and speed in the backcourt.

Coach Scott Tackett's girls had a great season and one game can never define a season. I was pulling for the Lady Vikings, put hold your heads high girls. There are 15 teams in this region who would have traded places with you in a heart beat!

Just talked to people at Diddle. They said the thing that won the Regional for Rowan Co. may have been the reason for their doom against Breathitt. Their defense being ruff and tuff which was not usually called by the refs in the 16th was called at Diddle. No disrespect intended , I was pulling for them. Not sure how many fouls were called on Rowan but there was a lot of bench time for the starters and that resulted in the rebounding going the other way. Congrats to Rowan Co. on a great season and good luck next year.
