:thumb: I had forgot to list that in my post. 21 rebounds!! What a game he had :scared:. I wonder if that is some kind of a record (for the 16th region tourney) or not or if they have any of that type of stat on record? I would think that maybe they would have it somewhere.

 

I have a tourney record book around the office here somewhere. I will try to look that up for you TOMORROW! I still have a sports report to write and record for the morning and then be back here EARLY!!

A big thumbs up to the Bath County Wildcats. Coach Hicks is a competitor with a passion for this game. He's brought a level of intensity and professionalism to a school with some good athletes. He took a team most everyone picked to be in the bottom half of the region this season and finished with a 20-5 record and a district championship. Great job coach. :thumb:

 

I agree fastbreak, Bath has started a foundation to build on with this team.

There has been a lot of critisizm on Coach Hicks in the last few years but I look past that considering the rep of the administration on his last job .

I beleive that Bath's season this year shows that the man can coach :thumb:.

Couldn't stand not knowing: Most rebounds in a game is 25 set by James Gallion of Russell verses Olive Hill on March 7, 1957. Actually 21 is not even in the top 5. Phil Pratt of Boyd Co grabbed 24 vs McKell on March 7, 1973.

I bet its a record for someone only about 6 foot. Gees, that kid is a beast...

I'm so happy for our boys for never giving up!! They sure are a scrappy bunch!! I had to work tonight but listened to them on the radio. If we could shoot about 50% in a game and still rebound we would blow some people out!!! Go Tomcats!!!

Congrats to Buddy Biggs! His team has worked hard through the season and some may have counted them out but Buddy sure know how to win during tournament time, good luck Tomcats!

Hats off the the Tomcats on a hard fought victory. This one reminded me more of a prize fight than a basketball game, with both teams slugged out and the last man standing advancing. A big pat on the back to Will Skaggs for the Cats for knocking down five of six clutch freethrows in the final minute and a half to seal the deal. His tosses were the difference in the score. :thumb:

 

This was not pretty, but coach Biggs and his boys get to play East Carter Saturday and that's what it's all about.

Blandon Clemons has been a real treat to watch this season, (except when he was doing what he does to my team.) He should be a real prospect for a lot of schools at the next level. I will miss seeing him in a Bath County uniform. He's an outstanding young man. I wish him the very best in his future. :thumb:

 

 

 

Blandon is a great young man and will be missed at Bath. He has basketball ahead of him. I talked with Coach Hicks after the game and he told me what Matt Thomas said to Blandon after the game. He told Blandon that he was better than what people had told him he was. Coach Hicks said he already knew that Matt was a great young man but that showed alot of class on his part not only as a player but as a young man to take the time to talk to Blandon. :thumb:
