According to the "voice of the Lions" they were 1-10 during the 2nd quarter - a scorching 10%.

Congrats to the Lions on their win tonight and best of luck to both teams in the regional tourney.:thumb:

The Lions win again. Good luck in the Region.

Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling that to get back to Rupp they will have to beat a very good team 4 times in the same year

Yep, I think you are right. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in the region!

congratulations to Elliott County and to East Carter. East will be a tough draw for any team to play in the first round.

I think East will be an equally tough second round matchup!

I personally think Tyler Maynard could be named the MVP of this game. His numbers aren't as big as the Faulkners or Ferguson, but he stepped up early in the 3rd and hit a couple of big 3's for Elliott and got them going.

Thanks GO he has been waiting for this all year, just to get a chance to play . Way to go Tyler.:thumb:

I think they will miss him more next year than a lot of people realize. Even though he has stuggled with his stroke this year, other teams have no choice but to respect him.

I do too. He has struggled mostly beause he can never get into the flow of the game. He has not played long in the games all year. thank you:walk:

Colt had a very nice tournament. Selection for all tourney is always tough. I wouldn't want that job for any kind of money!!! We did it one year because we carry all the games and the coaches wanted us to do it. Made way too many people mad because we selected the all tourney team based solely on the tourney. A kid who had a phenominal "year" but did nothing in the tourney did not make the team. We were berated so badly because this "big name" kid was left off, we decided to never be a part of the selection process again even though the coaches have asked several times since.

I still feel that the Barnhill kid should have notched out the third spot on East all District team. Instead it was given to a Senior that allowed to many open shots for Maynard. Barnhill averaged a Double Double in both games and had six block shots in the finals.

You make a good case, but this is not a fan (or media) vote. I am sure there are others who feel someone else should have been named also.

Barnhill should have been on there....but the 3 that made it from East were deserving as well. Johnson, well...enough said, he was fantastic especially in the finals. Bair played the two best games in the tourney that i've seen him play, he really killed WC near the end of the 3rd Quarter. And Sagraves, while he doesn't score that much, he is extremely important for East. He gives them so much toughness and leadership, I know they would have had more trouble with West in the first round had he not played, Barker hit him up for 24, but almost every shot was contested and well defended, not many in this area, and no one from East would have defended him better that night he was just making everything. That said, if Barnhill had made it I don't think anyone would have been mad, he is a pretty good player in his own right. He will need a big tournament if East is to accomplish what they feel that they can at Morehead. Honestly, I would have probably taken (i know they wouldn't do this, im just saying), either one of West's all tournament selections or Morgans and put Colt on there, especially West since Barker was really the only one who played very well against East. All things considered it is just a trophy, and not really that important, I would say ole' Colt will have plenty of all tournament team trophies in the future.

I hate to see that Colt Barnhill didn't make the all tourney team. He had two very nice games and was left out. I think the big turnaround in the game came when he got hurt in the third quarter. Both teams played well and congratulations to Elliott on the district championship

Maybe not making the All-Tournament Team could be motivation for Barnhill to produce come Wed. in the Regional Tournament.

And the big turn-around in the game was when Baier and Jackson picked up their third fouls in the first two minutes of the second half.
