Walton-Verona vs. Simon Kenton (32nd District Finals)

Featured Replies

I have seen him a few times the past few years, and I have seen good things from him. I normally see him when Walton play's Simon and that's all, but why would you say that? How does he hurt the team? Curious.

Haven't seen him play a lot, but from what i seen he tends to force a lot of shots and isn't the greatest passer.

He has a tendency to play very selfishly. He gets zoned in on the dribble. That said he also has the ability to score 20 points and can guard at times, he just needs to stay within himself and realize he has teammates.

Good points.:thumb:

Walton should win they are the 1 seed and they have a better record than SK, in saying that I think SK wins the rubber match by 8.

Not valid in this debate at all though. They got the 1 seed from a coin flip and have a better record against a worse schedule, they also have lost some pretty bad games. Not saying that they aren't the favorite, just those reasons are not why.

SK tied them, in districts, if the coin flips tails SK is the 1 seed. Records really have nothing to do with this. SK plays a far superior schedule year in and year out than Walton. Its why I think SK wins, they are battle tested.

I know those reasons that you stated are true, but I was trying to build Walton up as much as I could.

 Oh my bad. I don't know how much building up they need, they had to beat SK once to get there and they did that. If they can have the same kind of performance in this game as they did that game they can do it again.

Use your magic Redcrossave!

IMO from what I saw out of SK this year they were a better team with out Layne..

Don't know if they were "better" without him...but they do know, now, that they can win without him. Grant played a pretty good ballgame, and yet the Pioneers still win by 10+. Does that make them lucky or good? Perhaps a litte of both. But, Walton will have to bring their "A+" game as SK has too many weapons for all of them to have an off night. Hot shooting outside by one team coupled with cold night from the opponent could make this a blowout. Don't think that will happen, though. I'll take SK by 9.

My points exactly..

However they had a point guard when he was out and didn't when I saw him the other couple times so that might be why I think that.

Somehow that just doesn't seem real sincere.

Don't bet your money on this happening.
