February 26, 200818 yr Author Agree, if he can stay healthy and in shape. His arm should be sound at this point. I'm more concerned about the in shape part--and that's a big concern.

He slings the ball and often times, throws across his body or uses a lot of shoulder. How did the Sox say, there were using him. Spot starter or middle relief?
February 26, 200818 yr This is kind of like taking a walkon in basketball. You never know what he'll produce and besides, what does it hurt? Good job Sox.
February 26, 200818 yr Author He's in shape. ROUND!!! .... I can agree with that assessment. However, I think I'll trust the only 2 time Champs of this decade front office judgement. :thumb: The last I heard the Red Sox wanted to try out a 6 man rotation. He would give them the chance to do that with Beckett, Dice-K, Buchholz, Lester, Wakefiled and Colon. To be fair he still throws a lot harder than Josh Fogg--but good luck with that. :thumb:

I'm a St. Louis and Detroit fan, so I'm okay.

I think Detroit is looking especially strong. I think that the Sox aren't wanting to put to much physically and mentally on Lester and Buchholz and they think with their offense that they can get by with it. Although I don't think you'll see the 6 man rotation much after Memorial Day. Of course, many people said that about the 5 man rotation. Did I actually say Wakefiled? He'd only been there since forever. Darn typing.
February 26, 200818 yr Author Something to keep in mind. Or if you're a Yankees fan to blot out. John Farrell completely turned Curt Schilling's season, and in effect the Red Sox season around when he helped teach him how to pitch, not throw. What if Colon learns a similar lesson and Schilling comes back late? Farrell is the real deal--your thoughts?
February 26, 200818 yr Would have liked for the Reds to sign him, would have felt a lot better about it then Fogg signing or Affleit (sp).
February 26, 200818 yr Author Would have liked for the Reds to sign him, would have felt a lot better about it then Fogg signing or Affleit (sp). That's why the Reds are at this point AAAA. Not good enough to be a major threat, but not bad enough to lose 100 games. But the 100 games is coming.
