February 25, 200818 yr The last couple days it has been saying "Unplayable Disc". Anybody know what the heck could be wrong?
February 25, 200818 yr Author You mean you haven't played halo in 2 days and your still alive? Luckily for me, I have three tests tomorrow (did I really just say that?) to keep me busy.

February 25, 200818 yr You will most likely have to get it replaced. Just hope that it is under the 1 year warranty. If it is, they'll fix it for free, and send you one month of Xbox Live free. Mine did the same thing with the "Unplayable Disc" crap, and they sent me a box to send it in, and then about 1 month later I got a refurbished (totally different console) xbox 360 at my door.
February 26, 200818 yr The problem is that overheating (which happens a little easily) affects a design flaw, that causes some of the casings inside to come loose so your laser can't read the disc correctly.
February 26, 200818 yr My son has had to send his x-box back twice. Both times they returned it pretty quickly. Not sure if it was replaced or repaired. However, I get the feeling that there are a lot of trouble with the 360's.
February 26, 200818 yr I have the same problem I think its because you have played it too much at a time and it over heats.

I believe if something like that is on there it is not under warranty if it tears up because the fan is not made by Microsoft. They will blame it tearing up on the fan.

Why hasnt Microsoft designed something like that fan? This overheating problem is so widespread, surely they can redesign the units currently being made and fix the ones out there.
February 26, 200818 yr Why hasnt Microsoft designed something like that fan? This overheating problem is so widespread, surely they can redesign the units currently being made and fix the ones out there. Here's what I've read. They fix the broken ones (if it is under warranty) for free. They will send the person that sends it in, a refurbished one, with a new cooling system installed. I did have to send mine in and thank God it was under warranty. They sent me a different console, refurbished, and I can tell a difference. It is much more quiet than the first one, and I've not had a problem yet. I've only had it for a few months though, so I have my fingers crossed.
February 26, 200818 yr Everyone that's having this problem when is it happening? Mine keeps on saying it in the middle of a game, particularly online. Usually it happens while the game is loading, it'll like click once, then say the game can't be read, and that I need to clean the disc and restart. This has been going on for about a week or two now.
