But the rebels were a consensus pick by everyone to finish dead last not only in the SEC west, but the SEC in general. Everyone knew Tennessee would be good this year, but no one even thought Ole Miss would be competitive.

At the first of the year I would have bet that Ole Miss would be right there with U.T. all season for the best in the SEC and that A.K. would quite possibly be "COY", he is one heck of a basketball coach. Ole Miss has really stuggled lately and I don't think that he (AK) will win it now.
February 25, 200818 yr Author Okay, I understand that Pearl is very deserving of the award. But has he done the best job? I can see his argument considering their conference record, knocking off Memphis and the energy Pearl brings to the league. But I am amazed at what Gillispie has done with only 3 players that can really score!!! If UK was to win out (which I know is unlikely) I think it has to be Gillispie, especially if the award is just based on what is done in conference play.
