February 23, 200818 yr I love seeing Crawford show a little bit of emotion. When he took the ball into the lane and got fouled all while making the basket, and then gave a little bit of muscle flex and screamed. Good to see out of him.
February 23, 200818 yr Great win today. I still a little upset with a crowd. Its a shame that it has to take till the second half when it really gets close, for the whole crowd to get into it. When the crowd gets into at Rupp, it really helps UK out and rattles the other team. However for whatever reason for most of the game, it is still so quiet in Rupp. I did love the win today, and had great seats to see it!
February 23, 200818 yr Huge, huge win. Another must win on wednesday with Mississippi coming to town. Crawford played great again and Ramon Harris hustled down a few very key loose balls. Again, this was a big win.
February 23, 200818 yr :dancingpa:dancingpa What a good basketball game!! Untill with around a minute to go CBS switched to the start of the Duke game . U.K. got another MUST win at home. Was good to see Pelphry back in Rupp even though it was with Arkansas, was also good to beat him and good luck to him the rest of the season now . This team really made some big plays down the stretch. Luckily my radio was right next to me and I was able to listen to the rest of it after the Billy Packer/Duke network took over :irked:. U.K. really did a good job on the boards today. Bradley and Crawford stepped up down the stretch like seniors are supposed to do. John Pelphry imo really coached a whale of a game as well, he made adjustments at the half that came out and were executed and took a 7 pt. lead on us. BCG countered and we got it back to more of a half court/grind it out type game. I also thought that the crowd at Rupp today was very good. When Rupp really gets going like that it is an intmidating place for an opposing team, I wish the crowd would do that every game. U.K. is now 9-3 in the SEC and 15-10 overall. Ole Miss comes in on Wednesday with another very physical, tough team. Hopefully we can get a 10th SEC win before we go on the road to Rotten Flop and South Carolina. I beleive with 11 (or better) conference wins U.K. would make a pretty good case for the NCAA, don't know. Survive and Advance, every game is a tournament game from here on out . I almost went crazy! Yet another reason to hate Duke.:flame::madman:
February 24, 200818 yr UK continues to win! We have had 1 bad conference game. But the other 11 games we have played hard and been competitive. The effort and intensity UK plays with every gme has been very impressive. If you are just looking at conference play alone, right now Gillispie has a srong argument for coach of the year (I don't know how the award is judged).

So it was my first ever game at Rupp, but I was shocked at how loud the place was. It seemed like every 2 minutes the place went crazy. At the end of the game, I couldn't hear anything. Great great experience! The loudest it got though was when Johnny P was introduced.

The loudest it got though was when Johnny P was introduced. :thumb:When everyone does decide to get up and yell, the place is as loud as can be. I know usually though it is not like that. I know in the first half my girlfriend who was at her very first UK game every commented on also how quiet it was there and how that surprised her. The only time it really got loud in first half is the run to end the first half. However but in the second half I agree it did get loud like every 2 minutes which I liked, and it was just a really exciting game that whole second half. I just really wish Rupp would be like it was today in the second half for every game, instead of just at certain times. The girlfriend made me a little late so I missed the Johnny P introduction which sucked. However I know when Beverely was shooting those free throws for Arkansas, the place was rocking and yelling almost louder than I have ever heard. :thumb:
February 24, 200818 yr I didn't think they'd get Arkansas, and it cannot be understated how important this win was, as they all are. UK is 15-10, with two important home games remaining (Ole Miss & Florida), a very winnable road game (South Carolina), and what I would say is a loss at Tennessee. If UK can manage the two at home and at South Carolina, they'll be 12-4 in the SEC, 18-11 overall. I think with that, and a semifinal finish in the SEC Tournament (equaling two wins and a loss) to get to 20-12 overall gets them in. Anything short of that leaves it in the air. I think they need more than 18 wins to have a shot. 18-14 is not going to get it.
February 24, 200818 yr Author I almost went crazy! Yet another reason to hate Duke.:flame::madman: Speaking for myself, that (going crazy) would not be a very far trip if any for me :thumb:. Plus, I don't really need anymore reason to despise Duke, that has always came natural to me.

A semifinal finish would only equal 1 win and a loss, because they'd get a bye with a 12-4 SEC record....Absolutely no way this team goes 12-4 in conference and doesn't make the Big Dance.
February 24, 200818 yr Absolutely no way this team goes 12-4 in conference and doesn't make the Big Dance. :thumb: If they lost their first game of the SECT, I'd be a little nervous for selection Sunday, but they should be in at 12-4. Its looking like that would put them 2nd overall in the conference. No way they get skipped while 3rd-5th place teams get in.
February 24, 200818 yr A semifinal finish would only equal 1 win and a loss, because they'd get a bye with a 12-4 SEC record You're right. Brain fart. It is however possible that UK could be 12-4 without a bye. If Vandy wins out, they'd also be 12-4, and I'm not certain what the tiebreaker would be from there.
