February 21, 200818 yr Josh Fogg, per mlbtraderumors, 1 year contract with a 1 million dollar base salary, Im sure there are incentives. Puts to bed Joe Blanton.
February 21, 200818 yr Control type of pitcher and hope they get it done. Give the Reds credit, for looking at many options this spring.
February 21, 200818 yr Couldn't get Blanton...drop down a notch....pick up Fogg Fogg 60-60 career record, 4.90 ERA. Never won more than 12 but was in double figures every year but one--that with some bad teams.
February 21, 200818 yr ^And in Coors. There will be a great battle for the 3,4, and 5 position in the rotation. Will be fun to see it play out. Don't remember the last time they Reds had this many young arms with a lot of upside (Not really putting Fogg in that category).

Don't remember the last time they Reds had this many young arms with a lot of upside (Not really putting Fogg in that category). You touched on a key word and with youth, often brings inexperience but several have some considerable MLB experience. A right mix/blend of veterans and young pitchers, can make for an entertaining but at times, frustrating season. Fans will have to be patient with this staff and hope they can stay close early, then compete for a Division run.
February 21, 200818 yr Reds are not sold on the young guns yet. They only want to use one in the rotation. Good for Reds fans, they are actually trying to contend.
February 21, 200818 yr I like this move. Can not ever have enough pitchers competing for a starting position that are actually capable of being a decent pitcher.
February 21, 200818 yr I'll take any quality pitcher with experience for 1 million a year. This would have been a great signing a few years ago. Nonetheless, I'll take it.
February 21, 200818 yr I was kind of wanting Blanton. Agree! Would have cost them a few million more, but he'd have been worth it. Hard to see a guy with a career ERA near 5 fairing all that well at GABP, but who knows.
February 21, 200818 yr ^ Be sure to let Bob and Wayne know! That may have been what's holding up the deal!
