Reds close to signing

Fogg's numbers are fairly similar to Eric Milton's. Just can't see how this adds much meaning to their rotation.

I'd say the salary is the difference.

If our 5th starter gets 10 wins like he has 5 of the last 6 years then I like this team a lot.

Which is about $8M a year different.

As someone mentioned above, this is a younger, cheaper version of Milton. Thankfully it's only a one year deal and they aren't over paying for him.

If he goes out and finishes 10-10, you would have to be happy with that. You would think Harang will get 15 wins and Arroyo should get 10-15 wins.

No doubt. Now if we can get the #2 to win 10 that'd be awesome too.

GREAT sign for the Reds.

I still think Bailey is the KEY! He needs to be able to eat up some innings!

They are interested in all these pitchers so that he does not have to be thrown into the fire right away. He could be the 5 starter and be productive, but if he is thrusted into the 3, he will have too much pressure and innings to be an effective young pitcher.

How long is it before a young pitcher, turns into a guy that if not making it a the Bigs, is a bust. Not calling Homer a bust, I'm just wondering what that time frame might be. Is it at 5 years, or 7, or 10?

It's a done deal. One year for one million.
