Ashland continues to really struggle. West Carter has been playing good basketball as of lately. Good win for the Comets.

I think this game sets the new school record for longest losing streak by the Tomcats.

 

I believe 8 losses was tied with the 1990 team. Now they stand alone with 9, just wow.

Nice win for the Comets.

Congrats to the Comets on a nice win to send the Seniors out. West was led by Barker 23 points (10 rebounds, 9 or 10 blocks as well the last I heard), and Aaron Rayburn with 21. Good overall team effort, especially rebounding. West is on a 6 game win streak with some nice momentum heading into districts. Ashland played very hard, but didn't shoot extremely well, they do apply good pressure though.

Yes Brandi is his sister. He is also the newphew of Dennie Webb who was a nice player in the 90's and went on to play for Morehead and KCU, and is a close cousin of Jeremy Webb, the coach, and one of, if not the best player in West Carter history. I guess you could say it's a basketball family.

I watched Brandi for years when I was helping coach the girls team at Rose Hill. She was definitely a great player. Didn't she get a scholarship to Morehead? How is she doing now?
