If you pick out one Scripture as you have done here, you do as it says. If you look at ALL the Scriptures that speak on this matter, than you get a different picture.

Now, I realize there are some serious (mostly Catholic) theological discussions to have on the nature of the Trinity, but going off the verse quoted, I think that plays to what acemona's getting at. Huh? By addressing one person of the Trinity you automatically address the others, they are one in the same. I don't follow what you are saying?

Peter chose to deny Jesus and then chose to repent. The crowd chose Barabbas. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY JESUS CHOSE TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE ALL OF OUR SINS. John 10:11 I am the good Shepperd: the good shepperd giveth his life for his sheep. John 10:17,18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. In the scripture quoted, it says that those who choose to love GOD and their neighbor will have eternal life, it does not say anything about choosing to following Jesus. The gist of the OP is this - There are other ways to find GOD other than through Jesus. The Gospel story is not, and has not through history been available to everyone, therefore not all people have the ability to CHOOSE to accept or reject Jesus Christ. Those who do not have that choice, for whatever reason, are going to have to be drawn to God in some other way or else they are doomed to eternal life without God.

They will someday hear something about Jesus/ God the gospel and they will have a chance to make a Choice or CHOSE to obey the Gospel or reject the Gospel. Its human nature to Pick and Chose scripture that will fit your arguement. I do it a lot, this is also the way we see scripture or interpretation of Scripture. Samaritians were hated by the Jews and claimed Jesus was one. Even when the man asked Jesus the question the Jewish man wouldn't even say the word Samaritian he said "He who showed mercy". Social prejudice is shown here and is one of the most appealing stories in the Bible.

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."
