When this thread originally came along, I voted yes. But after watching last nights beat down against Vandy, I want to change my vote. Talk about being exposed.

How many NCAA spots are for "at-large" teams? Something like 34? Here is the competition should UK not hit whatever the magic number happens to be or win the SECT:

ACC: Duke or UNC, Miami, NC State, Maryland, Fla State, Va Tech

SEC: Tennessee or Vandy, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida

USA: Houston, UAB

Big 12: Kansas or Texas, A&M, Baylor, K State, Oklahoma

Big East: Georgetown or UL, UConn, Pitt, Marquette, Notre Dame, West Va, Syracuse, Nova, Seton Hall

Missouri Valley (assuming Drake wins), Ill St, Creighton

Pac 10: UCLA or Zona, Stanford, Wash St, Southern Cal, Oregon, Ariz St., Cal

WCC: St. Mary's or Gonzaga

A10: X or Dayton, Rhode Island, UMass, St. Joe's

That's only looking at 9 conferences; and there are 40 teams that can possibly make a case; unless they really fall down the rest of the way. That's also assuming no mid-major upsets; and we all know that's not gonna happen.

I think we can all agree that UK's chances are hanging by a thread after last night.

Maybe a couple from the Big-10 get in. What'd ya think??

I'm sure they will. I knew I missed a couple of major conferences. I was just going until I hit 40 teams.

mcpapa was counting Memphis State as the automatic bid from C-USA.
