Hey, believe it or not, I'm being serious. Jackson and Euton are big time players, but its hard for 1-2 players to win consistently. If they develop some role players and a 3rd scorer, they are a scary team. Even Pippen and Jordan needed key role players - and we see what they did.

 

 

Well I know for a fact that RickyP was in Tampa this week.

A great crowd at this game tonight. It was mentioned earlier how the Fairview fans showed a lot of support for the Garnes family. This is very true of not only the fans of Fairview but of all the schools in the region. There is a lot of spirited competition between schools in this region; players, fans, coaches, media personalities, and even the referees all around the 16th have shown the Rose Hill community sympathy, compassion and support. I wish this season could go on forever.

A lot of good folks on the Fairview side of the court. They were very gracious in sitting through the ceremonies for Rose Hill, and showed a great deal of class in applauding the Rose Hill team and the Garnes Family at the right times. It's hard to imagine a better school to have in the house for "Senior Night"... hats off to all of them. :thumb:

 

Hall, Collins and Jackson are an outstanding trio of sophomores in the Eagle's Nest.

 

The Royals picked up their D in the second half and took care of business. Johnny Bush was off the hook tonight. :thumb:

Alex needed a good game. He just lacks confidence. He is a great player and I hope he and Gambill can add to the success that Barber and Davis have experienced over the past month. If those two get going along with Davis and Barber to add to Euton and Jackson they could be dangerous come tournament time. Also lets not forget the two most pestiest defenders in the region, Arthur and Bush. Keep it up and glad to see a nice bounce back this week after a great week in Richmond.

Jed, I was thinking about what you said. Not only was the Fairview fans classy last night but I remember the night we retired David's jersey and how gracious the Boyd Co. fans were that evening. We are very fortunate to live were we live.

Thru all the comments made on BGPreps and all thru all the forums that get closed, the 16th Region fans are still there for all the other schools in time of need.

 

We all get on here and support our past and present teams, but all in all still root and support all the 16th Region teams. The 16th Region fans are special. The rest of the state can compare our player talent at our schools as being lower than most of the State, but our Fans in the 16th are at the Top of the State.

 

(BTW, dont tell anyone, but I even rooted for Ashland a few years back when they were playing Paintsville in the State Championship:sssh::sssh:

Fairview is the host school, but the games can't be played at Fairview because of their gym's size. It can't be at Rose Hill either because of size, and it can't be at Ashland because their floor was ruined by water. That leaves Boyd County as the only school in the district that is capable of hosting the tournament, but Fairview could also choice Raceland or Russell as a possible site if they choose. So in other words, nobody knows yet. :lol:

Another good win for this young group of Royals. The Eagles took the fight too them early, but Rose Hill just wore them out. The Eagles were dragging by the 4th quarter. That Rose Hill press sure does wear those teams down. I agree with LRCW. That young Bush boy was who got Rose Hill going early in the 3rd. He may be the smallest kid on the court, but I'd put his heart up against anybody in the region. He's one hard nosed ballplayer. Speaking of you guys sitting on the floor, I don't know what you did, but you sure seemed to have gotten into the head of that Greenhill official. He seemed to be taunting you guys as he left the floor at halftime. That might have been the most unprofessional thing I've seen from an official in the 16th region. Other than that I thought the officials did a pretty good job other than all of the jersey grabbing and walks they missed. Even this blind old man saw those from the top row of the bleachers. I know it's tough being an official, and these guys are doing their best, but they had to see those jerseys being grabbed.

 

Question for you DT......How does a wink and thumbs up classify as taunting? If this is taunting then the official you mention also taunted the young lady who sang the National Anthem. I know for a fact that he turned to her, gave a :thumb: and had the audacity to say "Great Job".....What a bad guy....

 

My point to you and the gentlemen in the corner is that what you percieve to be a big deal was in fact a very minor gesture. In fact when asked about this situation the official in question just chuckled and said, "No big deal....those guys were just having fun."

As I said in my post I was sitting on the top row of the bleachers and that I'm a blind old man, and I said it seemed to be a taunt. I saw him make some sort of jesture toward the young men sitting on the floor. I've never seen an official respond to fans during a game. You may be right, maybe they are all buddies or something. They seem to all be about the same age. How do you know for sure it was a thumbs up and a wink? Were you at the game? If so, what did you think about all the jersey pulling that was going on?

I agree with Fishtie. What Steve Greenhill did certainly wasn't taunting. We just yelled at the officials to watch all of the jersey grabbing going on, and he just flashed us a big thumbs up. We were just having some good natured fun with the officials. I think those guys do a pretty good job for the most part. I certainly respect them, and the job they do, and I believe Steve Greenhill is one of the top officials in the region. He's been doing it for a long time, and I always feel good about how the game will be called when he's on the court.
