Scott County 86 Bryan Station 65

Featured Replies

Create havoc they did @ Scott County. Scott County answers and shows that the 11t th is going to be more than a two horse race, someone is going to have to stop Phares, he is a force 10 foot around the rim! Congratz to Scott County on their big win!

What does this do to the district seeding? Does Scott County lock it up if the beat Henry Clay? I am thinking it is going to come down to some type of tie breaker?

My understanding is it goes to a coin toss:dancingpa

Shocking to say the least.

Agreed!

Wow, I am surprised by the margin. As the posters stated above, the key to beating BS, is playing deliberate basketball. Almost all their points come off their defensive play. That is why I have felt that Catholic probably has the best chance to beat them. And now of course, SC.

I feel for Henry Clay; I saw they lost a close one to Madison Central tonight. And I believe they have to go to Scott County on Friday in a big district game. If Scott wins, I am not sure how the district seedings will go? Does anyone know how ties are handled?

how does the number 1 team lose by 21 pts?

Ask South Laurel in 2005 the year they won state i believe they were number 1 in the state and got beat by Lexington Catholic at home the margin then was 16 points. Game was Feb. 18th 2005.

How did South Laurel's season turnout?

They won the State Championship and never lost after that game.

Lost in the Region Semifinals to Bryan Station 47-29....

Anything can happen.

Ratings mean nothing.

It all matters in less than three weeks.

This might not be the worst thing for Bryan Station. The long winning streak might have gone to their heads a bit. It's almost a given that these two will meet up again in the district championship and maybe another meeting in the regional tournament. Just as no one should have written off Scott County earlier in the year, don't write off Bryan Station because of a loss tonight.

I picked Bryan Station by 7. I was wrong.......congratulations Scott Co.

Great win!!!!!!!!

As always the 11th gets real interesting late in the season.

I cannot wait til the postseason in the 11th, most of the districts are competitive and when it gets to the 11th Region tournament anyone can win on any given night. I am also looking forward to another Scott County-Bryan Station rematch because maybe after two blow-outs we can have a close one!

Scott had a small run to end the half and then BS started the second half with a few unforced errors, which scott capitalized on. I think Scott wanted this game more. I predict they will meet again and it will be a close game.

Sounds like a good response, glad to hear no excuses, just a clear reason why they got beat.

Kid is a great leader, he knows they stunk it up tonight. No loss is considered "good". But they will definitely bounce back from this.

Butler is #11 in the nation because they find kids like this. He's an absolute stud, a great leader, a cool headed kid, and an intense competitor.

This is a big win for Scott Co. They've had a tough year/tough schedule. Never count out the Cardinals - or Coach Hicks.

Maybe they would have played better if they had actually played and stopped worrying about the refs. Mack was talking to them all night as were a few other kids.

I will give SC credit that they changed up their press offense, as well as moving Portwood to the point proved to be a good move. It could have been the way they were taking better care of the ball, but BS didnt seem to have the energy they did in the other game. This probably wakes Station up and finish the season strong. I plan on being at the SC vs. HC game friday and booing Boyd if he doesnt choose UK. :sssh: Maybe we will get to see a better game in the district tournament between these two.

And it doesn't hurt that the Graves family has contributed some 3-point shooters that are lights out with the latest being AJ Graves. Their offense is simplicity. Set screens, come off screen, bury three or hit cutter. The fieldhouse they play in is the finest in tradition. Unreal hoops environment anc coach Stephens is a class act and a nice person to know. Their practices are exactly as you see on their TV games with drills for fast-breaks that lead to threes instead of alley-oops. Mack picked a great program and Butler gets a great player. Win-win.
