Upcoming sophmores

Featured Replies

Austin Abner and Cory Compton for Highlands have looked very good during spring ball. Austin has thrown the ball very well and seems to be picking up the new offense. Cory's a hard runner and look's to be a very aggressive linebacker. These are the two that seem to be standing out the most.

For Bell County, there is a number of sophomores expected to contribute.

Dominic Carton lb/rb- saw some playing time last season, quit basketball to concentrate slowly on football, the kid is already a beast.

Taylor Mills- started nearly every game as either a db or lb, also from what I hear, may spend some time at wr, incredibly athletic kid, with an insane work ethic.

Ben Madon- MAY start qb, all depends on where Dudley decides Shawnta Zachery is most effective, WR or QB.

Seth Chambers- 6'4-'5 250 soph. enough said.

John Dudley Hilton- started tight end entire freshman season. May see some time od D next year also.

And just to throw this out, for the new Harlan High team, TJ Green will be extremly dangerous at rb and on kick returns. Don't know to much else about them..but I know he is an incredible player.

Wow! That's sooo far away.

Why is that? Since he is a good friend of his, thought he would be able to tell us something.

Can you tell us anything about the reason(s) behind his decision to transfer to CCH?

Josh Friedel broke his collar bone during a JV game vs. Campbell Co. He participated in rehab to help his injury. About 4 months ago, the head coach at Ryle aked Josh to participate in an upper body lift, and Josh did not find this to be a smart idea and believed it to be unhealthy. He decided that CCH would be a good fit for him and his brother, Dewey.

How old is his brother.

Dewey will be a freshman next year. He is currently attending Gray Middle School.

How good is Dewey. If so will he be attending Cov Cath and what position

Dewey is a good football player. he is not as good as his brother, but he is still good. Dewey is an interesting kid, because he can play a lot of positions. QB, RB, LB, or S are positions he could potentially play.

How big is he? What school will he attend

Dewey will attend CCH next year. I am almost positive.

He is about 5'5" 144 lbs.

Few quesiton for you COLONELDL95:

Will Cov Cath get anymore transfer.

Any good freshman coming in next year that you know if. I heard of a few but any good ones out in the Boone County/ Kenton County Area.

There are a few rumors circulating around that two students at Boone and Ryle that are being redistricted to Cooper may transfer to CCH if they are forced to go to Cooper. Also current SHDHS student and former BCPWFL Razorback RB Paul Ritter may transfer next year. If he transfers, his dad will make him repeat his freshman year.

Is Paul Ritter any good. I think the Kentucky rule is if you are in High School you cant play your senior year if you repeat a grade. So do you think the freshman class will be good next year.

I'm totally confused... are all these potential "transfers" to CCH guys that will be freshmen next year, or are these guys currently in high school somewhere else?

Josh Friedel is a freshman at Ryle. The two Cooper kids are currently freshman at Ryle and Boone. Ritter, the SHDHS kid, is also a freshman.
